Video: Punk discusses the backstage altercation with Jack Perry at AEW All In

CM Punk discussed the backstage altercation with Jack Perry at AEW All In (via the MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani):

“Jack came back from his match, I was the next match, and I’ve got people with me. I’m not going to say who they are, because I’ve got a lot of friends that work there and I don’t want them to be punished for being friends with me.

“I walk up and I’m like, why do you insist on doing this dumb internet sh-t on TV, and he was like ‘well if you’ve got a problem do something about it’ and I’m like come on man, I’d f–king kill you, what are we doing.

“I thought I was doing the responsible thing, I didn’t punch anybody, I just choked somebody a little bit. Samoa Joe was there, told me to stop, then I quit.

“I turned to Tony, I said this place is a f–king joke man, you’re a clown, I quit.

“I went to my room, Joe and Jerry Lynn got me and lets just go out there and kill it. I was just too fired up and I’m fired up now, I’m probably going to regret talking about it.”

This entire interview was incredible! I just saw a clip of him talking about the AEW issues on Twitter which had me thinking “this is gonna get taken down” so I ended up finding and watching the whole thing. Setting the record straight on a lot of the “reports” that have been thrown out there the last couple of years. Twitter and the niche audience that Punk spoke about losing their minds right now. Waiting for the Tony Khan meltdown now. 😜

    @Kyle Christie
Thank you, your comment made me realize that checking out the whole thing is an option.
I don’t think it’s gonna be taken down, he didn’t say anything close to what the “real wrestling fans” are claiming he said (like usual).
Unca Dave’s probably gonna blow a gasket and say a crapload of stupid stuff, if he hasn’t already. I’d hope this finally gets Tony to open his eyes, but I know better. Although I do hope someone over there has enough sense to break his phone.
One thing I do have Tony and the Bucks to thank for: I never cared for CM Punk before. They opened my eyes to how awesome he is.

Me thinking it was gonna get taken down was due to the supposed NDAs that were in place but it seems like the only one is for the Brawl Out press conference.
Meltzer’s video on YT has more dislikes than likes and is just his usual stammering and saying nothing for a half hour.
Well Punk became my favourite in 2011 after the pipebomb, I loved him back then so when he returned to AEW in 2021, it was a goosebumps moment for me. Loved his stuff with Darby, MJF, Kingston but sad it ended the way it did. He’s back with WWE now and clearly still has a passionate fanbase.

And it all worked out for the best.
I’m not listening to Meltzer, I’m not tolerant enough… I’ll wait for Jim Cornette to take him apart. Again…
Now we need MJF to punch a Buck or something to get out of his contract. Even though he’s one of the few there who can actually handle some creative control, he just doesn’t have anyone to work with anymore. I still have a hard time believing that he signed a new one.

    Yep!
Oh, I don’t either. I just read a few comments with it on in the background for a minute. It’s bad enough reading the crap he says and yes, I’m also waiting for Cornette’s response to the Punk interview.
I have a feeling MJF will be in WWE one day. He’s proved he can be the biggest heel or babyface, he’s gotten away from the no selling and crazy moves that should end a match instead of being a throwaway move.

I have respect for Punk explaining his actions. AEW, I’ve already said can go f*** themselves for refusing to do anything with an autism awareness organisation that I work with.
