Biography

– Honma had ambitions of joining the New Japan Dojo at a young age, but his tryout was unsuccessful and he sought training with Michinoku Pro instead
– In 1997, Honma joined Big Japan Pro Wrestling
– On May 22, 1997, Honma wrestled his debut match for Big Japan, losing to Shunme Matsuzaki
– In October 1998, Honma joined the Deathmatch division of Big Japan on a full-time basis, having wrestled a few death matches over the past year. He was credited with revolutionising death match wrestling in the promotion by introducing aspects of traditional puroresu
– On December 5, 1998, Honma & Shadow WX defeated Shadow Winger & Jason The Terrible to win the vacant BJW Tag Team Titles
– On January 13, 1999, Honma & Shadow WX defeated Minoru Fujita & Ikuto Hidaka to retain the BJW Tag Team Titles
– On January 2, 2000, Honma defeated Ryuji Yamakawa in a Spike Nail And Barbed Wire Double Board Death Match to win the BJW Death Match Heavyweight Title

– Honma suffered a neck injury in late 2005 and would be out of action for close to six months
