5/14/19 WWE 205 Live Recap: Fatal Four-Way Match; Ligero vs. Nese Main Event

The opening credits roll. Aiden English, Nigel McGuinness, and Byron Saxton are on commentary. Tonight’s main event: Ligero vs. Tony Nese.

Match #1 – Fatal Four-Way Match: Gentleman Jack Gallagher vs. Humberto Carrillo vs. James Drake vs. Mark Andrews
Drake leaves the ring and the others start the match. They all exchange holds and dropkicks, and then Drake tries a quick roll-up on Andrews, but Andrews kicks out. Drake leaves the ring again, but the other three go after him. Andrews gets Drake in the ring and takes him down with a dropkick. Gallagher and Carrillo get back into the ring and take Andrews out. Carrillo sends Gallagher to the floor and then Drake slams Andrews into the apron. Drake gets into the ring and stomps away on Carrillo. Drake delivers a spinning heel kick and goes for the cover, but Carrillo kicks out at two. Drake drops Gallagher to the floor with left hands and then suplexes Carrillo back down to the mat. Drake goes for the cover, but Carrillo kicks out at two. Drake applies a headlock down on the mat, but Gallagher gets involved.
Drake punches Gallagher back to the floor, but Carrillo gets to his feet and delivers an enzuiguri to Drake. Carrillo takes Drake down on the floor with a suicide dive. Andrews takes Carrillo down with a hurricanrana and then drops Drake with a DDT on the floor. Gallagher grabs William the Umbrella and goes up top. He opens William, dives off the top, and takes out all three men. Gallagher tosses Andrews back into the ring and goes for the cover, but Andrews kicks out at two. Gallagher drops Andrews with a delayed vertical suplex and goes up top. Drake cuts him off and climbs as well. Carrillo kicks Drake in the head and Andrews takes Drake down with a reverse-rana. Gallagher delivers a reverse headbutt to Drake and Carrillo splashes onto Drake. Carrillo goes for the cover, but Andrews and Gallagher break it up.
Carrillo, Andrews, and Gallagher exchange shots in the ring and then Andrews hits Carrillo with Stundog Millionaire. Gallagher headbutts Andrews, but stumbles back into Carrillo, who rolls him up for the pin fall.
Winner: Humberto Carrillo
-After the match, Carrillo extends his hand to Gallagher for a handshake. Gallagher accepts, but quickly walks away.

A promo from Ariya Daivari airs. He says he is in Tony Nese’s head. Nese is wrestling matches he doesn’t have to wrestle and is running himself into the ground by flying across the world and back. Daivari wishes Nese good luck and says he will see him at Money in the Bank.

Nese is backstage for an interview. He says he could have taken it easy this week, but the WWE Universe expects more of its Cruiserweight Championship. He says he wants to carry on the tradition of 205 Live’s best versus the UK’s best, and he doesn’t plan on taking it easy against Ligero.

A video hype package for Ligero airs.

A promo from Lucha House Party airs. They accept The Singh Brothers’s challenge from last week. Next week, Lince Dorado and Gran Metalik will take on Samir and Sunil.

Match #2 – Singles Match: Ligero vs. Tony Nese
Neither man gets an advantage and then exchange quick roll-ups for one counts. Ligero delivers a few chops in the corner, but Nese comes back with some of his own. Nese delivers a back-elbow and then kicks Ligero in the midsection. Nese connects with a quick kick combination and trips Ligero up. Nese goes for the cover, but Ligero kicks out at two. Nese sends Ligero to the floor, but Ligero kicks him in the face. Ligero takes Nese down with a hurricanrana and then runs the ropes, but Nese gets back into the ring and drops him with a back elbow. Nese goes for the cover, but Ligero kicks out at two. Nese applies a body-scissors submission, but Ligero fights to his feet. Nese delivers a right hand in the corner and sets up for Running Nese. Ligero counters with a roll-up, but Nese kicks out at two. Nese takes Ligero down again and applies the body-scissors.
Ligero tries for a couple pin attempts, but Nese kicks out at two each time. Ligero gets free and slams Nese to the mat. Ligero kicks Nese in the head and goes for the cover, but Nese kicks out at two again. Nese connects with a kick to the chest and a right hand. Nese delivers a face-bister and kicks Ligero in the face. Nese goes for the cover, but Ligero kicks out at two. Nese delivers an elbow in the corner and then an enzuiguri. Nese goes for the springboard moonsault, but Ligero counters. Nese goes for it again, but Ligero dodges it completely. Ligero splashes onto Nese and goes for the cover, but Nese kicks out at two. Ligero looks for the springboard tornado DDT, but Nese dodges it. Ligero kicks Nese in the face and takes him down with a suicide dive on the floor. Ligero tosses Nese back into the ring and goes up top.
Nese cuts him off with an uppercut and then connects with a hurricanrana. Nese goes for the cover, but Ligero kicks out at two. Nese climbs this time, but Ligero cuts him off. Nese shoves him away and connects with the 450 splash. Nese goes for the cover, but Ligero kicks out at two. Nese goes for a suplex, but Ligero counters and gets a two count on a roll-up. Ligero kicks Nese in the face and goes for the tornado DDT. Nese counters with a roll-up for two and then slams Ligero into the corner. Nese delivers the Running Nese and gets the pin fall.
Winner: Tony Nese
-After the match, they shake hands and Ligero holds Nese’s hand in the air. Ariya Daivari runs out and slams Ligero into the ring steps. Daivari goes after Nese in the ring and slams him into the corner and the ring post. Daivari beats down Nese and drops him with the hammer-lock lariat. Daivari grabs the Cruiserweight title belt and drapes it over Nese before leaving the ring.
