Detroit’s Cobo Center to be Renamed

Feb 21, 2019 - by James Walsh

Click On Detroit reports that the Chemical Bank has bought the naming rights to the Cobo Center in Detroit and is expected to change the name to the TCF Center after an upcoming bank merger. The original name came from politician Albert Cobo, who was mayor of Detroit from 1950 to 1957 and was said to have racist and discriminatory policies. The Cobo Center has a history in wrestling, including the Big Time Wrestling territory, as well as WCW and WWF event and recent independent promotion XICW.
