Smackdown Live Results 2/19/19

We are greeted by the Smackdown Announce team as Shane McMahon kicks off Smackdown this week. We see highlights from Daniel Bryan retaining his WWE Championship at Elimination Chamber while he walks to the ring.

 

Shane first announces that because the NXT Superstars that debuted last night on Raw impressed him so much that they will indeed be here on Smackdown tonight. Miz interrupts Shane to talk about loosing the Tag Team Championship at Elimination Chamber. Miz tells Shane that he appreciates him choosing him to be his Tag Team Partner but he also needed to admit that he used Shane. Even though he used him, he realizes now that he has let Shane down. In their first title defense, he let Shane down. “I can’t change the past, but i can control the future.” Miz states to Shane. The fans start chanting Rematch, Rematch, Rematch.

The Uso’s come out with their newly won Tag Team Championships. They are giving them a chance to be called the best tag team in the world. There is 1 reason why Shane shouldn’t want this rematch though…The Uso’s called the Miz a Joke! Shane tells the Uso’s not to talk like that about his Tag Team Partner! He announces that the rematch will happen in Cleveland Ohio, Miz’s hometown at FastLane.

NXT Superstar Aleister Black’s music hits as he makes his way to the ring.

He will face Andrade NEXT!

Commercial Break:

Match 1: Aleister Black vs Andrade w/ Zelina Vega

Fans start chanting NXT, NXT,NXT as Black and Andrade face off. Some good sequence to start off with Black going for a wild kick to start off.

They show Gargano & Ciampa are watching this match backstage.

Andrade gets a nice knee to the fact and goes for a quick pin. He only gets a quick 2 count as Black kicks out. Andrade goes for another quick knee to the face and misses and flies over the top rope. Black goes to jump to him on the outside and jumps back inside and lands sitting in the middle of the ring. Andrade hesitates getting back into the ring as he sees Black sitting there.

Once back in the ring, the action goes back and forth. Andrade gets the upper hand once he knocks Black off the top rope. Andrade goes to suplex Black back inside the ring but Black ends up getting him on the apron. Andrade gets the upper hand and gets him back in the ring for a quick 2 count. Andrade gets him in a choke hold to slow the pace down but Black gets back up. Black gets a double knees from the top rope but Andrade is right back up. After a few back and forth sequences, Andrade suplexes Black into the turnbuckle. Andrade gets a double knees to the stomach and gets a 2 count. Andrade attempts a DDT but Black reverses, he gets him with Black Mass. 1 – 2- 3! Aleister Black pins Andrade in the middle of the ring.

Gargano & Ciampa is asked about the momentum from last night’s Raw onto Smackdown. Do they think they can keep up with the hype? Gargano says its crazy to think that in this very building, last year we went to war. Now we are the Future of the WWE. They are interrupted by Sheamus & Cesaro. Cesaro tells them to stay away from Smackdown and go back to Raw or NXT. Gargano tells them, We are not here to Set the bar, we are here to Break the Bar!

Jeff Hardy and AJ Styles are backstage talking about their match which is also the Main Event tonight. New Day shows up with a Pancake Branch. Tonight’s Main Event is Jeff Hardy, Kofi Kingston & AJ Styles vs Daniel Bryan, Samoa Joe & Randy Orton.

Next we will see  The Bar vs DIY

Commercial Break:

Match 2: Sheamus & Cesaro vs Johnny Gargano & Tommaso Ciampa

Quick back and forth competition, Gargano gets a quick 1 count pin but Cesaro kicks out. Cesaro tags in Sheamus. Ciampa tags himself in as they take over. Gargano flies between the ropes on to Sheamus. Ciampa dives out of the ring on to Cesaro. Cesaro catches him out of mid air and slams him down to the ground as we go to another commercial

Commercial Break:

We come back from the break with Cesaro holding Gargano on a choke hold on the mat. Ciampa gets out and he goes to the top rope fast. He drives towards Cesaro but Uppercut in midair. Cesaro goes to tag in Sheamus. Sheamus keeps Ciampa from tagging in Gargano, He takes him to the top rope. Sheamus then gets Ciampa on his shoulders for White Noise, but Ciampa reverses and sunset flips him. Sheamus lands awkwardly on Ciampa’s knee. Ciampa tags out quickly to Gargano. Gargano launches himself on to Sheamus on the outside. Gargano is taking on Sheamus & Cesaro by himself. He hits a slingshot DDT on to Cesaro inside the ring. Cesaro kicks out at 2, but Gargano hits a roll up kick. Cesaro tags in Sheamus and Sheamus hits Gargano with a knee to the chest from the top rope. Ciampa is back inside the ring to save the match. Sheamus and Cesaro is double teaming Gargano.

Gargano tags Ciampa back in and Cesaro has no idea. Ciampa rolls Cesaro up and gets a 1-2-3! Johnny Gargano & NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa defeated The Bar.

 

Samoa Joe is backstage with Randy Orton, Daniel Bryan & Erick Rowan. We will find out who will face Daniel Bryan at FastLane tonight.

We will see Ricochet take on Eric Young tonight on Smackdown Live!

Smackdown live’s Women’s Champion Asuka makes her way to the ring.

Commercial Break:

Kayla Braxton is in the ring to interview Asuka. Asuka tells Kayla that she is ready for some new Challengers. She defeated Becky & Charlotte at TLC, and made Becky Tap out at the Royal Rumble. She doesn’t want to hear their names anymore, she wants someone new. Mandy Rose’s music hits and out comes Mandy and Sonya Deville. Mandy tells her she is ready for Asuka.

Match 3:

Asuka vs Mandy Rose w/ Sonya Deville

Asuka starts off with a couple quick kicks. Lacey Evan’s music hits while the match is in progress. Asuka is watching Lacey and Mandy takes advantage. Mandy hits a side Russian leg sweep and only gets a 1 count. Mandy quickly gets out of the ring. She gets back in and knocks Asuka to the mat. Asuka reverses Mandy’s attempt to throw her out of the ring by throwing Mandy out of the ring as we go to a Commercial break.

Commerical Break:

Back from Break and we see Asuka got Mandy into a knee lock, but gets to the ropes. She gets out of the ring and Asuka follows, Mandy hits her with a huge knee to the head. Asuka is down and isn’t moving, Mandy gets back into the ring. The ref gets up to a count of 9 but she breaks the count. Mandy is immediately back on Asuka, she is toying with Asuka which is a big mistake. Asuka turns things around quickly with a drop kick off the second rope. She hits a quick kick to the face. Asuka picks her up for a quick german suplex and then hits the shining wizard. Mandy kicks out at a 2. Asuka hits Mandy with a kick knee to the face but Mandy immediately starts saying Oh my eye. Mandy uses her with the ploy and rolls up Asuka, 1-2-3! Mandy Rose defeats Smackdown Women’s Champion Asuka.

Charlotte is backstage watching the Asuka match. She talks about how Becky showed up this past weekend at the House show. She says that that Ronda Rousey vs Charlotte is the main event because SHE is in it.

We go to Miz and Shane McMahon backstage and Miz tells Shane that his dad is gonna be at ringside at FastLane.

Ricochet makes his way to the ring, he will face Eric Young..NEXT!

Commerical Break:

Match 4: Ricochet vs Eric Young w/ Sanity

They start the match with a lock up, testing each other. Its a quick back and forth athleticism. Eric Young gets out of the ring to catch his breath, once he gets back inside though Eric gets the upper hand because of the distraction from Alexander Wolfe. Young gets a quick 2 count after hitting him in the back of the head with a elbow. Young gets him on the ground with a headlock. Every time Ricochet tries to get him up, Young gets him back on the mat. Ricochet punches out of the headlock. Ricochet then picks up the pace and fast offence. He jumps from the rope with a top rope uppercut. He hits a standing shooting star and got a 2 count. Ricochet takes out Wolfe and then dives out Kilian and Young on the outside. Ricochet goes to the top rope, and hits a 630 Splash to get the 1-2-3!

Kayla Braxton is backstage with The New Day. She asks about Elimination Chamber, Kofi tells her that its been such a special week. He feels like the whole WWE Universe has his back.

Commercial Break:

Kevin Owens is on the screen and he gives us a quick update on his rehab and return.

Match 5 – Kofi Kingston, AJ Styles, Jeff Hardy vs Samoa Joe, Randy Orton & Daniel Bryan

Daniel Bryan comes out with a mic and calls everyone ignorant, and tells them that he is here to educate them. He says he is not going to tell us Who he is facing at FastLane but he is going to tell us who it isn’t and it isnt any of the men in the match tonight because he already beat them all.

Commerical Break:

The match begins with Kofi Kingston and Daniel Bryan but Bryan tags out immediately as he tags in Joe. Some quick moves but Kofi quickly tags in Jeff Hardy. Hardy hits the double split leg drop on to Joe. He goes for a quick pin but only gets a 1. He starts to go for a Twist of Fate but Joe slams him face first into the mat. Joe tags in Randy Orton, Orton slowly starts stomping on Hardy’s legs then tags in Bryan. Fans begin to Boo as He stats kicking Hardy into the chest. Bryan quickly tags Orton back in. Orton wraps his body around Hardy, keeping him in place with a headlock. Fans are trying to get Hardy back in the match and Hardy is able to quickly tag Kofi back in. Kofi picks the speed of the match up with some quick moves and a double leg drop onto Orton. Kofi knocks Orton out of the the ring and Kofi goes to the top rope. He starts to jump to Orton but Bryan hits him from behind. Orton Slams Kofi into the announce table as We go to our last Commerical Break.

Back from Commerical Break, Daniel Bryan has Kofi in the middle of the ring as he unleashes punch after punch to his face. Bryan tags in Orton as Bryan throws Kofi outside the ring. Orton restlessly slams Kofi’s face into the Announce table then puts him back in the ring. Orton locks on the headlock again keeping Kofi grounded but also near his side of the ring. Kofi gets out of the headlock and makes the tag to AJ Styles. Orton quickly tags in Daniel Bryan and AJ hits Bryan with a backbreaker 1-2..kickout. AJ Styles sets Bryan up for the Styles Clash but he doesn’t hit it, Randy goes for a RKO but Styles kicks him in the face. Bryan goes to grab AJ but AJ reverses into a Calf Crusher. Joe breaks up the submission but then Hardy hits a Twist of Fate on Joe. Bryan rolls up Bryan but AJ Styles reverses it. Bryan reverses and hits the Yes Lock, Styles gets out by grabbing the rope. Bryan gets up and goes for the running knee, he misses. Kofi gets tagged back in and takes everyone out on the outside. Bryan goes to dive on the outside but Kofi catches him. Kofi jumps on to Bryan and Rowan. He gets back in the ring and hits a Trouble in Paradise on Daniel Bryan…1-2-3! Kofi Kingston pins the WWE Champion Daniel Bryan!

Shane McMahon comes out immediately and announces that Daniel Bryan will defend his WWE Championship against Kofi Kingston!
