10/4/12 LIVE IMPACT WRESTLING RECAP

Join the Starman as he covers Impact Wrestling live from the Impact Zone in Orlando, FL.

A “Previously on Impact Wrestling” recap airs which runs down the Bobby Roode/James Storm saga and Hulk Hogan throwing King Mo into the mix. The rivalry between Austin Aries and Jeff Hardy is also touched upon as is Hulk Hogan and Sting being brought to the Aces & Eights clubhouse. We then see Hogan talking to Sting who are discussing what went down last week and Sting says he is going to watch all of the matches to see who has the fire and will choose the person who has the killer instinct to join him on taking on Aces & Eights.

We then head into the Impact Zone as we are welcomed to tonight’s show which will feature two title matches as the X Division and TV Championships are on the line. Mr. Anderson’s music then hits and he comes out and tells Hulk Hogan and Sting to gather around a monitor and watch his upcoming match.

Match 1: Mr. Anderson vs. Gunner
Kid Kash accompanies Gunner down to the ring for this singles match. Gunner enters the ring and immediately attacks Anderson before the bell rings. Anderson comes back with a couple of clotheslines and a neckbreaker for a quick near fall. Anderson soon follows with a dropkick as Gunner retreats to the floor. Gunner is able to turn the momentum on the floor and rolls Anderson back into the ring as Sting is seen watching from the back. Gunner picks up a two count after hitting a back elbow and begins to wear Anderson down. Anderson then avoids a charging Gunner and takes him out with a Mic Check to pick up the pin fall victory. After the match, Kid Kash runs into the ring and begins beating Anderson down, but he quickly recovers and takes Kash out with a Mic Check.

Tara is backstage and is talking on the phone with her Hollywood boyfriend. She is interrupted by Gail Kim and Tara wonders if they can go on a double date after Bound for Glory. Gail doesn’t take the offer and tells her to watch her back if she wins the Knockouts Championship because she will be coming for her.

Match 2: Tara & Gail Kim vs. ODB & Miss Tessmacher
Taryn Terrell is the referee for the Knockouts tag team match. The bell rings as ODB quickly takes Gail down and tosses her in the corner to get things started. ODB then levels Gail with a clothesline and a power slam before tagging Tessmacher into the ring. Tessmacher nails Gail with a dropkick and tags ODB into the match but Gail manages to get to her corner and tag Tara into the match. ODB takes Tara down and gives her a bronco buster, but a distraction by Gail allows Tara to take control of the match.

Gail is tagged in and picks up a near fall over ODB but Gail and Tara begin having communication issues as Tara tags herself into the match. Tara goes for a standing moonsault but ODB lifts her knees to block it and Tessmacher is tagged back in. Tessmacher takes Tara down with a series of strikes and a headscissors and picks up a near fall after a face plant but Gail breaks it up. ODB comes in and takes Gail down but Gail drops her out to the floor. Tara then shoves Gail into Tessmacher before hitting the Widow’s Peak to pick up the pin fall.

Bruce Prichard is backstage with Al Snow and are going over documents for Snow to sign as we head into a commercial break. A video package highlighting the feud between Snow and Joey Ryan is aired once we return from commercial. Snow then makes his way to the ring and grabs a microphone. Snow introduces Joey Ryan as he makes his way out to the ring. Snow says a few weeks ago he let his emotions get the best of him and he put Impact Wrestling in a bad position. As a result, Snow wants to apologize to Ryan for his actions and offers a handshake.

Ryan says Snow is pathetic and wants Snow to announce the other agreement they settled on. Snow then reveals an Impact Wrestling contract for Ryan as Ryan grabs it from his hands. Snow tells him to read it but Ryan wants to sign it right away. Ryan uses Snow’s back to sign the contract and he jabs the pen in Snow’s back for extra effect. Snow then tells Ryan that he should have read it as it states that he’s only a contracted wrestler for one night, and that is for Bound for Glory for a match against him. Snow tells Ryan that he will beat his ass in Phoenix and walks away.

Kurt Angle is backstage with Sting and tells him that he has no problems doing double duty at Bound for Glory. Sting says he needs someone who has their mind and plate clear. Sting then tells Angle that he will think about it as he is Kurt Angle. Bully Ray then walks up and tells Sting that he should be in the World Championship match at Bound for Glory but Aces & Eights messed that up for him. Ray then tells Sting that he wants to be in the match and Sting tells him to go out and prove himself tonight and tells Ray that he needs a bully as we head into a commercial break.

Match 3: Rob Van Dam vs. Samoa Joe (TNA Television Championship)
Samoa Joe comes out carrying the legit Television Championship this week as he has it slung over his shoulder. Taz also mentions that RVD was once the TV Champion for a long time in another company as this match gets started. The two go at each other with kicks and strikes until Joe busts out with a clothesline and levels RVD with a kick to the head. The fans rally behind RVD but Joe locks him in an STF, however, RVD makes it to the ropes to break the hold. RVD rolls out to the floor and drops Joe with a kick to the knee but Joe comes back and sends RVD into the steel steps.

The match returns to the ring where RVD stuns Joe with a kick before connecting with a springboard kick. RVD then hits Rolling Thunder for a two count. RVD then takes Joe down with a cross body block and a spin kick before heading to the top rope. Joe stops him, though, and hits RVD with a Muscle Buster to pick up the pin fall and retain the Television Championship.

AJ Styles is backstage talking with Chavo Guerrero and Hernandez as they are arguing about last week’s match. Kazarian and Christopher Daniels walks in and stir the pot by saying their just heard Kurt Angle say he doesn’t want to be in the tag team match at Bound for Glory and how he could beat Guerrero and Hernandez by himself as we head into a commercial break.

Dixie Carter talks about her favorite Bound for Glory moments. We then see King Mo arriving at the Impact Zone earlier in the day. Austin Aries and Jeff Hardy are seen talking about their tag team match last week and how they have no issues with each other. Bully Ray then walks in and tells he is going to punch one of them in the face later on tonight to prove himself to Sting. Ray then calls out Hardy but Aries challenges Ray to call him out. Hardy then suggests a triple threat match and Ray agrees as Aries thanks Hardy for making his matches.

Match 4: Chavo Guerrero vs. Kurt Angle
AJ Styles and Hernandez are ringside for this singles match. The bell rings as Guerrero gains the early advantage with a headlock and connects with a couple of uppercuts. Angle comes back with a high back body drop and begins to stomp on Chavo to wear him down. Angle then picks up a one count after taking Guerrero down with a suplex before continuing to wear Guerrero gown. Guerrero then comes back and takes Angle down with a dropkick for a near fall. Guerrero then tries for the Three Amigos but Angle counters and takes Chavo down with a trio of German suplexes. Angle then goes for the ankle lock, but Guerrero breaks free and hits Angle with the Three Amigos. Guerrero heads to the top rope but misses with a Frog Splash. Angle then hits the Angle Slam but Hernandez distracts Angle for a moment as Chavo rolls up Angle for the pin fall. After the match, all four face off in the ring as Kazarian and Christopher Daniels smile on the entrance ramp.

The announce team hype King Mo’s appearance later on tonight as we head into a commercial break.

Match 5: Douglas Williams vs. Zema Ion (X Division Championship)
The bell rings and Williams hits Ion with a series of strikes and sends him over the top rope with a clothesline. Williams follows out to the floor to continue on the attack but Ion sends him into the ring post. Back in the ring, Ion takes Williams down with an arm bar and quickly makes Williams tap out to the submission hold. After the match, Ion refuses to break the hold and the referee reverses his decision and awards the match to Williams via disqualification. After the match, Ion gets on the microphone and tells Hulk Hogan and Sting to take his name off the list as he doesn’t want to mess up his pretty face.

A video package on King Mo is aired. We then see King Mo backstage and he will come out to the ring after the commercial break.

Bruce Prichard is backstage with D’Lo Brown and are watching video of Matt Morgan interrupting a match and kicking a referee. Prichard wants to know how he let Morgan do something like this at a live event and tells him to not let it happen again.

James Storm’s music hits as he makes his way to the ring. Storm says we are 10 days away from Bound for Glory and the biggest night of his life. Storm says his conflict with Roode started one year ago and he is coming to prove to him that he is the better man. Storm continues to say that Hulk Hogan added King Mo as the special enforcer as Storm is interrupted by Bobby Roode’s music.

Roode comes out on the stage and says he doesn’t give a damn about King Mo and the only thing that should be on his mind is getting in the ring with Roode. Roode continues to say that their year long feud is going to explode at Bound for Glory. Roode says he won’t stop until he finally ends Storm’s career and not even King Mo can stop him. King Mo’s music hits as he makes his way out and confronts Roode. The two shout at each other until Roode shoves Mo. Mo comes back and pushes Roode down before walking out to the ring. Mo steps in Storm’s face and Storm raises Mo’s arm before handing him a beer.

Hulk Hogan and Sting are in the office and Hogan says he has picked his guy and hands Sting a sheet of paper. Sting says there is one more match and he wants to see what Bully Ray can do. The two say they will watch and the announce team hype the upcoming main event as we head into a commercial break.

A video package on the Aces & Eights saga is aired. We then see footage of Aces & Eights drench Joseph Park with water and tells Hogan that he is fine and that they don’t have to look far for two volunteers to step in the ring at Bound for Glory. He then wonders if he is having the same luck. The announce team then hype Bound for Glory and run down the current card.

Match 6: Bully Ray vs. Jeff Hardy vs. Austin Aries (Triple Threat Match)
We join the match in progress and see Hardy take Ray down with a suplex. Ray rolls out to the floor as Aries enters and Ray pulls Hardy out to the floor and sends him into the ring post. Ray enters the ring and Aries takes him down with a cross body block but Ray comes back with a big boot to the face. Hardy comes back in and takes Ray down with an inverted atomic drop and a leg drop. Hardy then hits Ray with a Twist of Fate and he heads out to the top rope to hit Ray with a Swanton Bomb. Hardy goes for the pin attempt but Aries pulls him off and tosses him to the floor. Aries then locks in the Last Chancery on Ray but Hardy enters and breaks the hold.

Hardy and Aries begin to argue with each other as Ray drops them both with clotheslines. Ray then dumps the two out to the floor but Aries is able to recover and hangs Ray up on the top rope. Aries then takes Ray down with a missile dropkick and goes for a brainbuster but Ray blocks it takes Aries down. Ray then looks for his chain and can’t finds it so he grabs the TNA World Championship. Hardy then enters the ring and Ray sidesteps him and sends Hardy into Aries. Ray then hits Hardy with the Bubba Bomb to pick up the pin fall victory in this three way match.

After the match, Ray shouts in the camera and asks Sting if he saw that. Meanwhile, Aries and Hardy begin to argue some more in the ring as Aries thinks Hardy cost him the match. The fans begin a “Hardy!” chant and Aries seems to be jealous of his reaction before leaving the ring.

Sting and Hulk Hogan are seen leaving the office and they will announce who they will pick to be Sting’s partner at Bound for Glory as we head into a commercial break.

Sting’s music hits as he makes his way out to the ring with Hulk Hogan to make the important decision about Bound for Glory. Hogan grabs a microphone and says they are going to play by Aces & Eights rules as they have Joseph Park. Hogan calls it personal between him and Aces & Eights and Sting is fighting on his side. Hogan says Sting needs a running mate and talks about how the TNA roster feels about Aces & Eights. Hogan continues to say they need to find someone who can get the job done and that someone delivered two Mic Checks in the ring tonight and calls out Mr. Anderson.

Anderson’s music hits but he doesn’t appear from the entrance ramp. We then see video on the screen where Aces & Eights have taken out Anderson in the parking lot. Samoa Joe is seen running out to check on Anderson as Bully Ray runs out and wants to know why they picked Anderson over him. Ray says if Sting wants to go to war, he should go to war with a warrior. Ray then tells Sting to convince Hogan to let him fight for him and for TNA. Ray says he is the guy as Sting turns to Hogan and tells him that he wants to go with Ray. Ray then extends his hand to Hogan and Sting does his best to convince Hogan. Hogan then shakes Ray’s hand as we Impact Wrestling comes to a close.

– Mr. Anderson defeated Gunner by pin fall.
– Gail Kim & Tara defeated ODB & Miss Tessmacher by pin fall.
– Samoa Joe defeated Rob Van Dam by pin fall to retain the TNA Television Championship.
– Chavo Guerrero defeated Kurt Angle by pin fall.
– Douglas Williams defeated Zema Ion by disqualification.
– Bully Ray defeated Jeff Hardy and Austin Aries by pin fall in a triple threat match.
