6/5/18 WWE 205 Live Recap: Kendrick vs. Dorado; TJP in Action; Ali vs. Murphy Main Event

205 Live opens with a preview of tonight’s announced matches: The Brian Kendrick vs. Lince Dorado and Mustafa Ali vs. Buddy Murphy. The opening credits roll and then Nigel McGuinness, Percy Watson, and Vic Joseph welcome us to the show.

Match #1 – Singles Match: Lince Dorado (w/Gran Metalik and Kalisto) vs. The Brian Kendrick (w/Drew Gulak)
Kendrick attacks Dorado as soon as the bell rings and beats him down in the corner. Dorado comes back with a slap and then backs Kendrick into the opposite corner. Dorado kicks Kendrick in the face and takes him down with a head-scissors take down. Kalisto and Metalik taunt Kendrick with their noise makers and Dorado takes Kendrick down on the floor. Dorado tosses Kendrick back into the ring, but Kendrick trips Dorado up and sends him back to the floor. Kendrick tosses Dorado into the ring and stomps away on him. Kendrick delivers a side-slam and goes for the cover, but Dorado kicks out at two. Kendrick applies a modified abdominal stretch in the ring, but Dorado fights back. Kendrick quickly drops him with another side slam and goes for the cover, but Dorado kicks out at two.
Kendrick chokes Dorado over the middle rope and then puts his boot in Dorado’s throat in the corner. Kendrick stomps onto Dorado’s face and then delivers an underhook suplex and goes for the cover, but Dorado kicks out at two. Kendrick goes back to the modified abdominal stretch and turns it into a chin-lock, but Dorado fights his way free. Kendrick keeps control and slams Dorado into the corner and then the next corner, but Dorado comes back with a spinning heel kick. Dorado kicks Kendrick in the face and slams him to the mat with a head-scissors take down. Dorado backs Kendrick into the corner and slams him into the turnbuckle. Dorado goes up top and takes Kendrick down with a frog splash. Dorado goes for the cover, but Kendrick kicks out at two. Dorado delivers a dropkick and takes Kendrick down on the floor with a suicide dive.
Gulak distracts Dorado and Kendrick slams Dorado into the announce table. Kendrick slams Dorado into Metalik an then back into the ring. Kendrick charges, but Dorado moves and hits the Golden Rewind and gets the pin fall.
Winner: Lince Dorado.
After the match, Gulak attacks Kalisto and Dorado. Gulak and Kendrick leave the ring as Kalisto and Metalik go after them and save Dorado.

We take a look back to last week’s WWE Cruiserweight Championship Match, which saw Cedric Alexander retain the championship against Buddy Murphy. We see Mustafa Ali backstage and he talks about how Alexander’s performance last week made him proud and hungry. He says he is going to prove why he deserves another opportunity and says Buddy Murphy might be stronger, but does he have enough hear. Ali says he is going to prove that he has the heart of a champion.

Match #2 – Singles Match: TJP vs. Brian Keith
TJP drops Keith with a hard clothesline and then grabs a microphone. TJP says he is sorry he has to do this in front of the friends and family of his opponent. TJP sentons back into the ring and continues cutting his promo. TJP asks if this is really the kind of competition that he deserves. TJP stomps the guy into the mat and says another General Manager on another brand might enjoy his talent a little better. TJP locks in a submission and says he might be available to those other brands very soon and Keith taps out.
Winner: TJP.

We see a video hype package for Lio Rush, who will debut on 205 Live soon.

We see that The Lucha House Party will take on Gentleman Jack Gallagher, The Brian Kendrick, and Drew Gulak in a Six-Man Tag Team Match next week.

Match #3 – Singles Match: Mustafa Ali vs. Buddy Murphy
Murphy drives his shoulder into Ali’s midsection and then slams him into the corner. Ali tries to get free, but Murphy tosses him back into the corner. Ali tries for a few chops, but Murphy isn’t fazed. Ali kicks Murphy in the face and then delivers a dropkick that sends Murphy to the floor. Ali takes Murphy out with a corkscrew plancha over the top rope. Ali tosses Murphy back into the ring and goes up top. Ali delivers a cross-body and goes for the cover, but Murphy kicks out at two. Ali delivers a right hand and goes back up top, but Murphy cuts him off. Ali delivers a headbutt and a right hand and slams Murphy’s face into the turnbuckle. Murphy tries to fight back and then delivers a gut-buster onto the top turnbuckle. Murphy goes for the cover, but Ali kicks out at two.
Murphy drives his knee into Ali’s back and then into his midsection. Ali comes back with a crucifix cover, but Murphy kicks out at two. Murphy delivers another midsection shot and then kicks Ali’s arm. Murphy delivers a back-breaker and then a gut-buster and goes for the cover, but Ali kicks out at two. Murphy applies a modified abdominal stretch, but Ali counters and delivers an inverted rana to drop Murphy to the mat. Ali kicks Murphy in the face, but Murphy comes back with an elbow shot. Ali goes to the apron and splashes back onto Murphy in the ring. Ali goes for the cover, but Murphy kicks out at two.
Ali and Murphy exchange right hands in the ring and Murphy gets the advantage with a quick series of strikes, but Ali comes back with a spinning heel kick. Murphy comes back and kicks Ali into the corner, but Ali comes back with a kick to the face of his own. Ali comes out of the corner, but Murphy counters with a knee to the jaw. Murphy goes for the cover, but Ali kicks out at two. Murphy pulls Ali to the apron, but Ali sends him knee-first into the ring post. Ali deliver the X-Factor on the apron and tosses him back into the ring. Ali goes for the cover, but Murphy kicks out at two. Murphy delivers a super kick and then slams Ali to the mat and goes for the cover, but Ali kicks out at two.
Murphy tries to stomp on Ali’s head against the apron, but Ali moves and trips him up. Ali drops Murphy with a tornado DDT to the floor and tosses him back into the ring. Ali goes for the 0-5-4, but Hideo Itami appears from nowhere and knocks Ali to the mat and the referee calls for the bell.
Winner via disqualification: Mustafa Ali.
Itami keeps Murphy grounded as well and then drops Ali with his finisher and stands tall in the ring.
