Give me a break, another battle royal

  2. What? says:

It’s basically a place to dump everyone they don’t have room for on the rest of the card. If it allows people who otherwise wouldn’t be used to take part in the biggest event of the year, even if I’m not excited for it I’m not mad about it.

  3. Ian says:

WM has pretty much become a joke full of random matches between part-timers and random matches anyway. They throw half the roster in a battle royal, that should give someone a big push, but instead has pretty much been a big joke. It’s really a big crap on Andre’s legacy.

I anticipate this one to be just as bad.

  4. So, the show starts at noon and ends sometime before the Independence Day fireworks.

Fabulous Moolah Memorial Battle Royal and Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 34.

I am expecting that the ATGMBR ends up on the Pre Show while the TFMMBR ends up on the Main Show.

But if there is a big enough outcry the Moolah one could be moved to the Pre Show.

    Moolah true colours was:

TL;DR: Sent very young, starry-eyed girls out to the territories on their own with expectations of what they need to do for the territory owner and more, basically a pimp. “Taught” wrestling in a way so no one else would outshine her, is the protagonist of the original screwjob where she stole the Women’s Championship from Wendi Richter, screwed other womens serious pushes and is the reason there is hasn’t been a Women’s Tag Team Championship since the late 80’s.

You get a match, and you get a match. You get a match. Everybody gets a match!

  7. Joe A says:

Correct me if I’m wrong, but didnt she used to get other female wrestlers at that time addicted to drugs and pimp them out?

Would’ve preferred it to be named after Trish IMO

  8. Mumbai Kitchen says:

Trish and Madusa are stilll alive though. So why name a Memorial Battle Royal after a living person?

The memorial battle should have been named after:

Sensational Sherri: Sherri seems to have been liked universally. Never heard anything bad about her. Held titles in classic eras and Sherri had a reign of 441 days as WWE Women’s Champion (and beat Moolah). Only reason she turned to managing was because WWE got rid of the women’s division.

Chyna: Chyna would make sense considering the whole 9th wonder of the world thing she had going on in relation to Andre. Chyna was also the first woman to compete in a Royal Rumble match.

Luna Vachon: Rumor has it that Triple B aka Bam Bam Bigelow is this year’s Posthumous Inductee to the WWE Hall of Fame. Luna Vachon was Triple B’s main squeeze and Luna was also close to Andre with Andre being her unofficial godfather (http://slam.canoe.com/Slam/Wrestling/2008/07/28/6290856.html – mentions the Andre Luna connection)

Unfortunately, Moolah is whom WWE chose due to Fabulous Moolah being pretty much equal to Bruno Sammartino in terms of having a title reign that will likely never be replicated. She’s one of the most well-known women in WWE history even Moolah is a woman who whored out her co-workers, stole from them, pimped them out regardless of age, and held them back so she could remain a top star in the business

  9. Mumbai and Joe A are right, truly sickening that WWE wants to honor that scumbag. She’s the reason women’s wrestling never reached a higher level the time she was there. Naming it after Trish or Mae Young would have been far more appropriate.
