Jim Ross comments on the TNA situation, Owens vs. Rollins, HIAC PPV, more

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has posted a new blog entry over at his website where he gives his thoughts on various topics.

Ross commented on the current TNA financial issues and the lawsuit against them from their President Billy Corgan. Ross stated that the legal issues that are plaguing TNA are still ongoing but “one has to assume that they will be nearing their crescendo soon.” Ross, like many people, thinks that things are not going to have a happy ending for TNA. Ross believes that the brand of TNA have fallen like a rock and have been grappling in grace for the last few years since their move from Spike TV to Pop TV. Ross asked if “impact wrestling can be fixed” and according to the WWE Hall of Famer, it “absolutely” can. The way to do so is to restart the promotion and find a better TV network to air their television show, Impact Wrestling. Ross thinks that under new management, and a new name, TNA can “regain some level of footing within the marketplace.”

Switching gears, the WWE Hell in a Cell pay-per-view event is right around the corner, and Ross gave his predictions for the two top matches on the card.

Kevin Owens will defend the WWE Universal Title against Seth Rollins inside the Hell in a Cell structure. Ross sees Owens retaining the title against the newly minted babyface (Rollins). Ross thinks that Rollins is still a work in progress with the fans as a babyface. However, the WWE Hall of Famer sees this being a “helluva outing.”

Another match that is being heavily hyped is the #RAW Women’s Title Hell In a Cell match between champion Sasha Banks and Charlotte. Ross doesn’t see a reason for WWE to put Charlotte over and win the title, so he’s picking Banks to retain the title that she recently won. Ross does think that WWE should book the match in a way that the both talents are evaluated by competing in this historic match.
