Preshow:

We go live into the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana, and Renee Young welcomes us to the show along with the rest of the preshow panel, Booker T, Lita, and Jerry Lawler. We head back to the Social Media Lounge and Tom Phillips. Phillips informs us that his guest later tonight will be Sami Zayn.

We head back to the panel and then take a look at the hype package for the feud between Rusev and Roman Reigns. Booker says you don’t mess with a man’s woman and this is something that Roman Reigns is going to have to deal with. Booker says Rusev interfered in Roman Reigns’ match two weeks to make a point, just like Triple H made a point to help Kevin Owens. Booker says Roman is going to have to go through the struggle, but he can do it. Lawler says Reigns has put himself in the wrong situation and agrees with Booker. Lawler says Reigns needs to stay away from Rusev and say nothing but nice things to him from now on. Lita says Reigns has put himself in a good situation and picks him to win. Lawler says it should be Reigns’ night, but it won’t be and he picks Rusev to retain. Booker doesn’t give a clear answer on who his pick is. Renee brings up the preshow match between Alicia Fox and Nia Jax, which will take place in just a little while.

We go backstage and Sasha Banks is standing by for an interview. Sasha says she has been waiting for over a month to get her revenge on Charlotte for trying to end her career at SummerSlam. Sasha says this isn’t about Bayley, it is about her. Dana Brooke walks up and says the only emotion that Sasha should be feeling tonight is fear. Dana says Charlotte will finish what she started at SummerSlam and will put Sasha on the injury list forever. Sasha asks if Charlotte told Dana to say that, and then brings up Charlotte slapping Dana and making Dana carry her bags. Sasha said it won’t be her on the injury list tonight, it’ll be Dana if she gets involved in Sasha’s business. We take a look at the video hype package for the feud among Charlotte, Sasha Banks, and Bayley. We go back to the panel and Booker says Charlotte is at a disadvantage tonight, but she can go out there and pull it off. He says Charlotte is the most dominant Women’s Champion of the modern era. Lita says Bayley is the wild card tonight and did beat Charlotte on Raw. Lita says Charlotte held onto the title in a triple threat at WrestleMania, and she can do it again tonight. Lawler says Sasha is scared of Charlotte, and if for some reason she’s not, she’s an idiot. Lawler says Sasha’s back will come into play tonight and “the hugger” will not be hugging the Women’s Championship tonight. Booker officially picks Charlotte, as do Lawler and Lita, but Lita says she hopes she is proven wrong tonight.

We take a look back at the Best-of-7 Series between Cesaro and Sheamus. We see Sheamus jumping out to a 3-0 lead, only for Cesaro to come all the way back and tie the series at three each. Sheamus joins the preshow panel after the review. Renee asks him if he feels pressure heading into tonight. Sheamus says he isn’t feeling the pressure, but Cesaro ranks up there as one of his toughest opponents ever. Booker says some people have said Sheamus has dropped the ball and asks if he feels his back is against the wall. Sheamus says there is no doubt that he has to win tonight and he performs at his best under pressure and he will get the win and his championship opportunity. He says there is no one stronger or braver than him and he will prove it tonight. Lawler asks if Cesaro’s injury to his back will come into play tonight and Sheamus says he will take advantage of any opportunity that he gets tonight. Lita says the series has been so physical and asks if we will see another championship run from Sheamus, and he says we definitely will. He says there are no excuses and he will walk out as the decisive winner of the series tonight.

We take a look back at the Cruiserweight Classic finale where T.J. Perkins was crowned as the new WWE Cruiserweight Champion after he beat Gran Metalik in the finals. We go back to the panel and Lita says she loves that Perkins is walking into Raw as the face of the Cruiserweight Division. We take a look back at this past Monday’s Raw, where Brian Kendrick won a fatal four-way match to become the number one contender to Perkins’ Cruiserweight Championship. Lita says an entire new audience gets to see the cruiserweights and an incredible match with Perkins and Kendrick. Booker says Monday Night Raw now has a marquee match every week. Lawler says Perkins has been impressive, but could turn out to be a flash in the pan. He says Kendrick has a lot of experience and comes in with a chip on his shoulder. We see Sami Zayn sitting in the Social Media Lounge with Tom Phillips as we head to a break.

We take a look back at Raw two weeks ago when Sami Zayn was a guest on Chris Jericho’s Highlight Reel, which was the beginning of their feud for their match tonight. Booker says nobody cares who’s going to be friends at the end of the night and says everyone has to make their own name. we head backstage with Zayn and Phillips. Sami is asked what the highlight of his WWE career so far. He says winning the NXT Championship, being a part of WrestleMania, and beating Kevin Owens at Battleground. He says the actual true highlight hasn’t happened yet, but will when he beats Owens for the WWE Universal Championship. Someone asks how it feels to hear the fans singing his theme song, and he says it’s pretty cool and has always enjoyed it. The last question asks him his plans for his match tonight. Zayn says the best gift Jericho could give him is a piece of the old Chris Jericho. Zayn says he will just have to settle for beating Jericho up tonight. Lawler says he’s glad Zayn is a musical person, because he will be singing his swan song tonight when Jericho is finished with him. Lita says Zayn needs the win, but Jericho has been on a role and will get it done. Booker picks Zayn to win.

The panel talks about the feud and the match between The New Day and Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson. Lita says Anderson’s entire family and his hot Asian wife are in attendance tonight. Booker says the New Day got here by the power of positivity and will be ready tonight. Lawler says he doesn’t understand the New Day and is tired of them.
