Report: WWE and Paige came close to parting ways

Paige’s suspension for failing a WWE Wellness Policy test has officially come to an end, but the drama behind the scenes intensified, reports The Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Apparently, WWE was prepared to fire the former WWE divas champion prior to suspension, but have since settled their issues for the time being — setting the stage for her return to television. Paige had hired legal representation and reportedly quit the promotion at one point before the parties mended fences.

In regards to her Wellness Suspension, Paige claimed last week that her suspension was not for a failed drug test, claiming that it was a “procedural issue” because she wasn’t home when she was to take the test.
