The Backlash Preshow kicks off from Richmond Coliseum in Richmond, Virginia and Renee Young, Booker T, Lita, and Jerry Lawler welcome us to the show as the usual preshow panel. We join Tom Phillips in the Social Media Lounge and he informs us that his guests later on tonight will be Heath Slater and Rhyno. We go back to the panel and we see the preview hype package for the feud between The Miz and Dolph Ziggler. We rejoin the panel and asks if this is Ziggler’s last chance. Booker says it is because he has had chance after chance and his stock has plummeted over the last year. Booker says The Miz is crafty and has been performing at a very high level. Lawler says The Miz tells it like it is and everyone gets mad at him. Lawler says in his last WWE match four years ago, he beat Ziggler. Lita says Ziggler always seems to come up short and he will do so again tonight. All three panelists pick Miz to retain.

We go backstage and see Apollo Crews and Daniel Bryan. Bryan says Crews is athletic and has the total package. Bryan says Crews needs to be more loose and Crews starts joking around with him.
