Detailed Smackdown Results 9/6/13

 

Smackdown opens with HHH, Vickie Guerrero and Brad Maddox in the ring. The Shield is guarding the ring while the rest of the WWE superstars watch on the ramp. HHH’s says Cody Rhodes was fired because he was insubordinate and disrespectful to his position of authority and went on to say that Cody had the opportunity to keep his job but he lost to Randy Orton so that means Cody Rhodes fired Cody Rhodes.

 

HHH went on to say he is friends with Cody’s family and that he is willing to assume the bad guy role in order to do what is right for business. He tells the wrestlers on the ramp he wants an open forum where they can say whatever they want with no repercussions. HHH says he works for them and can’t work for them if he doesn’t know how they feel in an effort to get someone to talk.

 

Damian Sandow talks first and says Cody represents everything that is bad for business and commends his loss of employment. HHH appreciates the comments but doesn’t want people to kiss his ass like that.

 

Kofi Kingston says the locker room has been living in fear ever since Cody Rhodes was fired and he doesn’t know how that is best for business. HHH says Kofi doesn’t understand how these things work.

 

Before HHH can continue, Heath Slater cuts him off and insults the Big Show and compliments HHH on his management style. HHH thanks Slater for emptying the contents of his mind and asks someone else to say something worth wild.

 

RVD steps up to the mic and says HHH brought him back to the WWE and was under the impression that things were better and that “the vibes not cool, dude.” HHH has been waiting since 2000 for RVD to call him dude, has faith in him and calls him a true superstar.

 

Ryback: He is sick of being called a bully and HHH says it’s not his fault for doing his job and puts him in a match with Dolph Ziggler in order to redeem himself.

 

HHH notices Daniel Bryan’s absence and claims his ego is too big to stand out with the rest of the superstars. HHH books Bryan in a match against any single member of The Shield he chooses and ends the segment by saying the meeting was very helpful and offers the following  rewards for those who spoke up.

 

Kofi Kingston vs. Curtis Axel in a non title match

 

RVD vs. Randy Orton……NEXT

 

 

-Randy Orton vs. Rob Van Dam w/with Ricardo Rodriguez 

Alberto Del Rio has join Michael Cole and JBL for commentary. RVD gets off the first couple of strikes and follows up with a quick leg drop from the top rope. RVD connects with a stiff kick to the head for a two count hits a thrust kick off the top rope for another two count. Orton counters rolling thunder with his short power slam and stomps away on RVD. Orton goes for a back body drop but RVD back flips over and hits a standing sidekick.

 

Orton gains control with two knees to the chest and stomps the back of his neck. RVD gets his foot up out of the corner and hits the split legged moonsault. They end up outside the ring and RVD front suplexes Orton on the guard rail and missed the spinning leg drop form the apron. Orton stomps on RVD’s knee and hits and standing drop kick.

Orton has RVD in a rear chin lock until RVD elbows his way out of it and hits a clothesline, side kick and a standing moonsault for a two count. RVD goes for a forward roll monkey flip but Orton moves and kicks out RVD’s leg on the second rope. Orton hits the hangmen’s DDT and sets up for the RKO. RVD kicks Orton and hits a roll up leg scissors for a two count, another side kick that drops Orton and misses the five star frog splash.  RVD rolls to the floor and Ricardo check on him, only to be thrown out of the way by Orton.

 

Back in the ring, hits a spinning side kick which causes Del Rio to sucker punch Ricardo. RVD hits Del Rio with a summersault plancha and Orton comes out to hit him from behind, hits the hangmen’s DDT from the apron to the floor and connects with the RKO in the ring for the 1-2-3.

 

Winner: Randy Orton

Aftermath sees Del Rio attack RVD while he is down and applies the armbar. He eventually lets go of the hold and leaves the ring with a big smile on his face.

Renee Young interviews Daniel Bryan backstage and asks about HHH’s comments. Bryan says he was told not to go to the town hall meeting by WWE management and says he is going to let The Shield decide will wrestle him since it won’t be one on one for long. He goes on to say that he can beat any member of The Shield just like he can beat Randy Orton for the WWE title.

 

AJ Lee bumps into Alicia Fox, Layla and Aksana and says she would rather be defending the Diva’s title against them instead of the women on Total Divas. AJ gets them riled up by saying their talent is getting squandered because of those no talent Divas on E! She has a plan and they all huddle as go to our next match.

 

 

-Dolph Ziggler vs. Ryback

Ziggler drop toe holds Ryback into the second rope and follows up with a standing dropkick. Ziggler misses a stinger splash in the corner and Ryback measures him with kicks to the ribs. Ryback hits a bodyslam and a running splash for a two count. Dean Ambrose unexpectedly comes out for commentary. Michael Cole is scared and gets out of his chair but Ambrose convinces him to stay because he is the voice of the WWE.

 

Ryback sends Ziggler in for a hard buckle, stands on his neck and applies a bear hug. Ziggler counters with a DDT, hits a stinger splash, tens punches in the corner and a neck breaker for a two count. Ryback kicks out of the Fameasser and sends Ziggler out of the ring with a vicious should block. Ryback misses a spear and goes head first into the steel steps.

 

Ambrose tells Ziggler to do his job which enrages him and chases after Ambrose but gets caught with a meathook clothesline. Ryback sends him back in the ring and hits Shell shocked for the pin.

 

Winner: Ryback

 

 

-Kofi Kingston vs. Curtis Axel w/ Paul Heyman

 

After some of headlock and mat wrestling exchanges, Axel goes into the ropes and gets nail with a Kingston dropkick that sends him out of the ring. Axel takes control in the ring with some kicks to the gut. Kingston takes him over with a head scissors and sends him out of the ring with a drop kick. Kofi misses a baseball slide drop kick, Axel kicks him in the gut, sends him into the steps, Kofi runs up the steps and hits Axel with a flying clothesline. Kofi throws Axel back in the ring. Heyman distracts Kingston which gives Axel the opening to knock Kingston off the apron.

Kingston fights out of a headlock but receives a clothesline to the back of the head for his troubles. The crowd is calling the Perfect Plex as Axel gets a pair of boots in his face off the second rope and Kingston lands several drop kicks. Axel connects with a hard dropkick as Kingston came off the ropes and dueling chants emerge “Let’s go, Axel” and “Let’s go, Kofi” as Kingston goes for a top rope moonsault as Axel trips him up, Axl brings him to the center of the ring and Kofi hits the SOS out of nowhere for the pinfall victory.

 

Winner: Kofi Kingston

 

Bray Wyatt video package is shown where he talks about Icarus and says that he warned Kane about thinking the fire was his friend but he ended up being a lamb led to the slaughter. The video ends with Wyatt saying Kane made his bed and now, he’s burning in it.

 

Backstage: Paul Heyman is rambling on the phone in a nervous manner and Renee Young interrupts and asks if he is concerned if Axel loses at Night of Champions just like he lost tonight. Heyman tells her to come right and say he is scared. Heyman says tonight’s loss was an error in judgment because they overlooked Kingston because they are too focused on CM Punk.

 

Young asks about the chance of Heyman being alone in the ring with CM Punk and Heyman goes on to claim that his baddest is a lot badder than the baddest CM Punk as bring. Renee reminds him of Punk’s promise of giving him the beating of his life and Heyman slams the door in anger on his way out.

 

-Brie Bella w/Nikki  vs. Naomi w/ Cameron

Brie takes Naomi down and hits a running drop kick to the head and throws her by her hair. Brie connects with a running knee and applies a rear chin lock. Nomi fights out of it and hits two drop kicks and a somersault clothesline for a two count. Naomi kicks Brie in the head and they get tied up and fall out of the ring. AJ, Layla, Aksana and Alicia Fox come out and attack the four Total Divas. Layla drops Brie with a vicious kick to the back of the head and AJ grabs the microphone and says “Ladies and nerds, your WWE Divas Champion, AJ Lee.”

Winner: No Contest

Los Matadores promo airs and Zeb Colter does his We the People gimmick and the Uso’s head to the ring for their match.

 

-The Real Americans vs. The Usos

Antonio Cesaro hits Jimmy Uso with a running dropkick and throws him out of the ring and Jack Swagger follows up with a spear and throws him back in the ring. Swagger hits a Vader Bomb and Cesaro spring boards over Swagger to hit the double stomp. Ceasro and Swagger make quick tags and drill Jimmy with a double team choke slam. Swagger gets back body dropped out of the ring and Jimmy makes the hot tag. Cesaro tags in at the same time and gets hip tosses out of the ring by Jey on the apron. Jey hits a running dive over the top rope and lands on Cesaro. Back in the ring, Jey hits Cesaro with a shoulder tackle off the top rope but Swagger breaks up the pin. Jey drops Ceasro with a superkick, climbs to the top rope and Swagger pushes Jey into a Cesaro uppercut for the three count.

Winners: The Real Americans

 

Backstage: Big Show looks pissed off and HHH says he knows what’s wrong. 3MB!!! He calls Big Show a legend and a locker room leader and can’t believe that 3MB said what they said during the town hall meeting. He makes a match with Show versus 3MB for after the break.

-The Big Show vs. 3MB

Big Show catches a kick form Slater and tosses him like a child. Big Show tosses Drew McIntyre into the guard rail, throws Jinder Mahal into the ropes and slams him on the commentary table and delivers seven chops. Show spears McIntyre and kicks him for good measure. Back in the ring, Show hits a double choke slam on Mahal and McIntyre, Slater tries to begs him off but receives a WMD punch for the win. This match was made so Show could blow off the steam and it looks like it didn’t work.

Winner: The Big Show

The Shield comes out as Show makes his way to the locker room. HHH comes out and tells Show to come back with him while everyone wonders which Shield member will take on Daniel Bryan.

Three Shield members are in the ring as the bell rings. Roman Regins steps up but Seth Rollins cheap shots Bryan and we have our answer.

 

-Daniel Bryan vs. Seth Rollins

Rollins is all over Bryan but gets caught with a kick to the head and receives a few yes kicks for his troubles. Bryan clotheslines Rollins out of the ring, follows him out and throws him right back in. Rollins cuts him off the body slams Bryan over the top rope and on to the floor. Rollins sets up Bryan on the apron and connects with a running kick to the head. Bryan fights back and they exchange forearm shots until Rollins kicks Bryan in the gut. Bryan ducks a clothesline and plants Rollins with up and over german suplex. Bryan follows up with a running drop kick in the corner and a missile drop kick for a near fall.

The crowd erupts with yes chants as Bryan hits six YES kicks to the chest but Rollins ducks a YES kick to the head. Bryan hits another kick, goes to the top rope and gets caught with a kick to the back of the head by Rollins. The referee keeps Rollins from going after Bryan while Regins drills Bryan with a clothesline and Ambrose throws him into the steel steps. Back in the ring, Rollins climbs to the top rope, leaps off and gets caught in the YES Lock. Ambrose and Reigns jump on the apron which causes Bryan to release the hold and knock them to the floor. Bryan gets thrown into the rope by Rollins and Bryan hits a Reigns with a dive between the ropes. Bryan gets back in the ring and hits Rollins with the same running knee that put away John Cena at Summer Slam for the win.

Winner: Daniel Bryan

 

The Shield tries to attack Bryan but they are too late as he escapes. Bryan celebrates with a plethora of YES chants as he walks up the ramp that ques Randy Orton to hit Bryan from behind with the WWE title. Bryan is out and Orton stands over him while holding up the belt.
