The Aces & Eights saga was also touched upon before we head into the Impact Zone where the announce team hype tonight’s show. Three major BFG Series matches will take place with AJ Styles taking on Christopher Daniels, Magnus takes on Samoa Joe, and Bully Ray goes up against Jeff Hardy.

Austin Aries’ music hits as the TNA World Champion makes his way to the ring. Photos of his match against Bobby Roode are shown as Aries enters the ring and grabs a microphone. Aries says has been called a fluke over and over again that he started to believe it himself, but he erased all doubt by beating Bobby Roode at Hardcore Justice. Aries says he is the face of TNA and nobody is going to tell him what to think, say, or do. He says no matter who is behind Aces & Eights and no matter who wins the BFG Series, he will walk out of Bound for Glory as the TNA World Champion.

Aries is then cut off by Jeff Hardy’s music as he makes his way down to the ring. Hardy comes out and congratulates Aries before saying he will win the BFG Series and the two of them will tear it up at Bound for Glory. Hardy then turns his attention to Aces & Eights for costing him 20 points this past Sunday and begs them to come out. Bully Ray’s music hits instead as he quickly makes his way to the ring. Bully gets in Hardy’s face and tells him that James Storm is behind Aces & Eights and wants to know why he doesn’t get it. Ray states the facts of what happened at Hardcore Justice and says he was lucky to get 20 points by putting Hardy through a table. Lucky or not, Ray says he will go on to Bound for Glory and become the TNA World Champion.

Aries steps in and says to become to the new World Champion, Ray has to go through him first, the same man that made him tap out before. Aries then questions if Ray is behind Aces & Eights and says whoever wins the BFG Series, they have to get through him, which is a task nobody has been able to take on. Aces & Eights then appear on the big screen and they say Ray was very lucky last Sunday. They also say they will make their presence felt in a very big way. Ray then tells both Aries and Hardy to smarten up as we head into a commercial break.

A video recap of the BFG Series matches at Hardcore Justice is aired. Rob Van Dam, Bully Ray, and AJ Styles won their four way specialty matches to earn 20 points each. The BFG Series Leaderboard is aired with James Storm in first with 66 points. Magnus is backstage and says he studied Samoa Joe before coming to TNA and how they became the TNA World Tag Team Champions. Magnus says he knows Joe as a man and how to get into his head, which will allow him to defeat the machine. That match is coming up right now.

Magnus manages to escape but Joe rolls up Magnus with a cradle to pick up the pin fall to earn seven points to put him just five points behind James Storm.

After the match, Magnus has an upset look on his face and Joe tries to offer a handshake but Magnus doesn’t shake his hand. Joe then leaves the ring as Magnus follows and grabs a chair. Magnus then nails Joe in the arm as Joe looks on at him with a pissed off look in his eyes.

Madison Rayne is backstage and says she defeated Miss Tessmacher clean in the ring last Sunday to become the new TNA Knockouts Champion. A stagehand then comes up to her and tells Madison that Brooke Hogan wants to see her. Madison says it must be for her victory celebration and walks away.

Madison Rayne’s music hits as the new TNA Knockouts Champion makes her way to the ring. Madison says Brooke Hogan has made a special request to see her and she must realize what a special moment this is as the queen has regained her throne. Madison continues to say that there has been a man that has stood beside her every step of the way and wants Earl Hebner to join her as she has something special for her. Hebner comes out and Madison gives him a hug as Brooke Hogan’s music hits.

Brooke comes out to the entrance ramp and wants to keep some integrity in the Knockouts Division and says that Earl Hebner will not be the referee in any more Knockout matches. To make the night even more special, Miss Tessmacher will be getting her rematch tonight and there will be a special guest referee for the match. Madison flies off the handle and invites Brooke to tell her about it face to face. Brooke then runs into the ring as Madison and Hebner quickly leave. Brooke tells Madison to get back in the ring as two members of Aces & Eights come in from the other side. They back Brooke into a corner as Austin Aries, Bully Ray, Sting, Kurt Angle, and Jeff Hardy chase them out of the ring. Christopher Daniels and Kazarian are backstage and are talking about being comic book characters in the Spider-Man comic book. The two begin to make jokes at AJ Styles’ expense as Styles walks in and says he is tired of it and wants to settle things tonight. Styles says if Daniels beats him he will accept to being the father. If Styles wins, though, he will get the points and get a paternity test. Why he just doesn’t get a paternity test anyway is beyond me.

The Bound for Glory Series Leaderboard is aired is once again and Samoa Joe has moved up to second place with his victory earlier in the night. We then head into the next BFG Series match.

Styles follows with a flying forearm and a pump handle gut buster for another near fall. Styles then takes Daniels down with a neckbreaker but Daniels is able to get his foot on the rope during the cover. Styles then charges at Daniels but Daniels drops the top rope as Styles goes crashing to the floor and Daniels instructs the referee to make the 10 count.

Styles drags Daniels out to the floor before running into the ring and leaping out to the floor and on top of Daniels. This gets the fans to start a loud “AJ!” chant as Kazarian sneaks to the ring. Kazarian hides by the ring apron and grabs the foot of Styles as Daniels counters a suplex and picks up the pin fall. The referee, however, notices Kazarian around the ringside area and lets the match continue. Styles then connects with a Pele kick and picks up the pin fall to earn seven points in the BFG Series and will take a paternity test. To take things one step further, Styles drives Daniels down to the mat with a Styles Clash after the match is over.

Sting is backstage and is talking to Hulk Hogan on the phone. Hogan says he will be next to Sting next week when he calls out Aces & Eights. Sting asks Hogan if he is ready for old school and Hogan says he is ready as it’s the only way to handle business. In the locker room, Jeff Hardy walks up to James Storm and says Aces & Eights have helped him twice and calls it shady. Storm says he is sick of people accusing him and he will stand up with Sting and will stand in his corner during his match to make sure Aces & Eights don’t show up. We then see Bobby Roode heading towards the ring as we head into a commercial break.

A recap of the TNA World Championship match from Hardcore Justice is aired. Bobby Roode’s music then hits as he makes his way to the ring wearing a suit. Roode says he had an opportunity on Sunday to show Austin Aries was a fluke, and he did prove that by defeating Aries in the middle of the ring and had his hand raised in victory by the original official, Brian Hebner. Earl Hebner then ran to the ring and restarted the match and here he sits tonight empty handed. Roode says he got a chance to look in the mirror when he got home and puts the blame on Austin Aries, Sting, the referees, and even the fans. “Styles then connects with a Pele kick and picks up the pin fall to earn seven points in the BFG Series.”

Boring! Honestly, any Daniels/Styles singles match to me is instantly ruined by the fact that Styles is going over. I view the match in that light and it removes all sense of drama from it for me. I know I’m shooting myself in the foot, but it’s just how it goes.
