Tony Schiavone comments on ‘tribalism’ and negativity towards AEW
Tony Schiavone comments on ‘tribalism’ and negativity towards AEW and specifically the Young Bucks:
“That’s fans who are, number one, idiots, but number two, do you think a lot of that is real? There are a lot of bots out there. Not only bots, do you think they’re just trying to be… (contrarian and edgy).
“That’s the nature of what we’ve got and that’s the business we’re in, so let’s move forward with that. I personally stay away from that stuff because I don’t want it to affect my work at all.
“I don’t want the few – and believe me, compared to the actual world, it’s the few – I don’t want the few, their negativity, nor their ideas on creative, to influence what I’m doing as far as my job is concerned.”
(What Happened When with Tony Schiavone)
Of course it’s bots. It’s not like people could actually have a problem with AEW. It’s bots. There’s simply no other explanation.
@Joseph
The thing is, what I take from that summary of Schiavone’s comments, he’s not saying that it’s mostly bots doing it, he’s saying that there are bots present in the hatred towards AEW.
But, for you to dismiss what could be viewed as a legitimate gripe doesn’t exactly help paint a good picture of people’s perspective of you.
It could be a lot worse Tony. It could be just one deranged person with multiple accounts like our resident sock hydra.
I hated Tony back in the WCW days and during his WWF stint. Then, after years away from the business, he started a podcast and was amazing because he was honest, didn’t have an ass to lick. Then he got employed by AEW and the ass licking started again. I miss independent Tony. That’s the only good Tony.
@the DB portion of DB Lukoseph
And, of course, it would be Gerweck’s resident Trumper hydra that makes a comment about what’s been a thoroughly debunked conspiracy theory…
@WrestleDebunkster
You’re horrible at creative and refuse to let it go. Is that you, Tony?
By the way, “debunked” and “denied” is not the same thing.
I term it as the “NFL Effect”. A lot of football fans won’t watch the CFL, UFL, or any other league but the NFL because of the notion the NFL is the best and everything else is inferior. Same goes for WWE. Doesn’t matter that the CFL has games that are more entertaining and unpredictable, some fans look down at the players because they aren’t in the NFL. Not sure if anyone here is on Twitter (Not calling it X, Musk can go and piss off), but there are accounts like Wrestle Cringe that put a spotlight on the tribalism and how bad it’s getting. Like fans who root for wrestlers like Jon Moxley to get hurt in the ring simply because they dare leave the E.
There is extreme tribalism out there, and from what I’ve seen, a lot of a it comes from WWE fans.
@the Luke portion of DB Lukoseph
When you speak, you remind me of a political saying, “every accusation is a confession”.
And, concerning the facts of the situation…
When a conspiracy theory is debunked, the only ones who deny the debunking are those who refuse to recognize/acknowledge proven truth & facts. And, the record shows that it’s you & the other heads of your collective hydra that continually insist on bringing it up.
Whether myself, Wooo!, Rob Dam Van, James, Shhh, or anyone else that you poor, deluded, ignorant, foolish souls have targeted, you seem to get off, to have some type of weird kink/fetish, on publicly embarrassing & humiliating yourselves in public view of any sane person with even half a working brain.
@Disgruntled
I understand where you’re coming from & what you’re saying.
For instance, during last Friday’s SmackDown, I saw a tweet on Twitter from what I figure is a die-hard brand-loyal WWE fan pondering on the mental stability of AEW fans because of the situation of the Motor City Machine Guns (Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin) signing with WWE instead of AEW. I had to point out to them that it’s not like it was a HUGE surprise at that time, considering how much wrestling “news” outlets had been reporting on the situation.
When it comes to my fan participation of wrestling, I very much enjoy looking down on fans who insist on being brand-loyal to one wrestling promotion or the other. It’s very much like being brand-loyal as a consumer; people don’t realize there isn’t one single company you’re going to get all your products or services from. That’s why I pride myself on not being brand-loyal as it relates to wrestling; during any given week, I’ll watch WWE/NXT, AEW, Impact, ROH, NWA… And, I’ll even joke around with people & state that, because of my particular wrestling fan participation, “I’m better than the brand-loyal wrestling fans, and they know it” (to paraphrase AEW talent MJF).
And, “truth be told” (just to piss off Gerweck’s resident Trumper hydra), the hate towards any wrestling brand that isn’t somehow connected to WWE actually isn’t something fairly or even brand new; you could argue it goes all the way back to when WCW finally became recognized as a major brand & started trying to compete with WWE.
But, in the end, I would absolutely agree with your statement that the extreme tribalism (and it’s associated unhealthy hatred towards other promotions) most definitely originates with WWE’s fanbase, and to re-iterate the point I just made in the previous section, it likely all started with when WCW decided to go up against WWE.
@WrestleFan
At one point I think I gave in and told you that you and whoever weren’t the same person. Maybe I second guessed and doubted what I saw. Maybe I just didn’t want to be bothered by it anymore. I can’t remember. Honestly, I don’t even really care at this point. If you want to believe Luke, DB, and I are the same person be my guess. Enjoy.
@WrestleAll
First off, thank you for another day started with a smile on my face.
On to the fun.
1. “every accusation is a confession” – is that why you continuously keep accusing people of things? (And no, I don’t mean your cute little “DB Lukoseph” sketch, I don’t care about that.) Or does this not apply to you, because, you know… you…
2. The definition of “debunk” according to Dictionary.com: to expose or excoriate (a claim, assertion, sentiment, etc.) as being pretentious, false, or exaggerated. You have not. What happened was that you got exposed (much to my dismay, it was more fun when you were convinced you’re “safe”) and all your “debunking” attempts were debunked. Also, “proven truth & facts” is not the same as “Because I said so”. Did you fail kindergarten?
Even though I know it’ll just bounce off your head, I’ll throw you a bone. Everyone has a distinct writing style. Writing styles are like fingerprints, no two are alike. You expose all your personalities because you don’t wear gloves and touch everything with your dirty fingers. Your writing style is unmistakable, especially to someone who knows a thing or two about languages. That’s why I wanted you to put a little work into your “characters”. You’re not bright enough to camouflage them completely, but you can at least try a little harder and make it more fun for me. And drop the desperate need for validation, that’s another dead giveaway.
Thank you again for starting my day on the right foot. Love ya.
@Luke
Listen; you can believe whatever insane, idiotic bullcrap you want. But, just remember: just because you believe something doesn’t make it true or real.
Looking at the facts of the situation: you’ve actually shown that you don’t understand sarcasm, and that is why WrestleFan admiting to having engaged in it in their “apology” actually does completely undermine your accusations & essentially renders them as holey as Swiss cheese. For all you know, WrestleFan was doing nothing more than entertaining your (DB Lukoseph) little conspiracy theory of him and whoever of us being the same person. In fact, WrestleFan even made the point of pointing it out recently that, a couple months ago, he did the same thing to Joseph when Joseph back then started the allegation that WrestleFan & someone else were the same person. I guess you must have not ever seen the article that had that comment attached, and as such, why your childish witch-hunt against myself, WrestleFan, Shhh, Wooo!, Rob Dam Van, etc. does in fact seem to fall as short as Donald Trump’s chances of winning next month’s election. Your denial doesn’t mean the conspiracy theory once again holds value; it does mean that you’re simply deeper in delusion than Joseph was back then & possibly as delusional as Joseph has now proven himself to be by desperately clinging to your revival of what can already be proven as lies.
So, from the looks of things, you’re simply mad that no sane person here, even one with half a working brain, is willing to entertain your desperate attempts at winning this debate/argument by resorting to personal attacks.
“Honestly” (using that just because I KNOW it’ll annoy you), it sounds like you’re the one needing a complete re-education about what words mean & what concepts are.
As far as your little bit of “psychology” there, you do realize that, with your name-calling style practically matching that of Joseph’s, the valid argument could be made that that shows the “two” of you are actually ONE person masquerading as two seperate accounts.
“Just to let you know” (another attempt at annoying you), I will admit to having taken somewhat an introduction to psychology class that was offered at my local high school back when I was attending high school in the late 90s/early 2000s. And, it’s through my education in that class that I came to realize that no two distinct people will have the same style of insulting; everyone has their own unique approach to it (much like your statement about fingerprints). And so, in you & Joseph sharing in the same style of insulting the way the “two” of you do, you’ve actually exposed the link between the “two” of you that exposes you as actually ONE person pretending to be two.
Once again, you act very much like a Republican, in that you’ll accuse others of that which you yourself are actually guilty of.
So, having said all that, I will take my leave of this interaction and let others take over thoroughly humiliating & embarrassing you for what’s been clearly exposed as your desperate attempt to keep from admitting to yourself, not only that you’ve lost the debate/argument, but also that you’ll stop at nothing to make others wrongly look bad.
@Whoo!
I’m curious if you remember what article it was. For the life of me, I simply cannot remember the article.
@Whoo!
“As far as your little bit of “psychology” there, you do realize that, with your name-calling style practically matching that of Joseph’s, the valid argument could be made that that shows the “two” of you are actually ONE person masquerading as two seperate accounts.”
If you’re talking about the funny little names Luke has for you, I think I did that only a few times and that was because I saw Luke and I think DB doing it and it made me laugh so I gave it a go. It’s not me, so I stopped.
“WrestleFan even made the point of pointing it out recently that, a couple months ago, he did the same thing to Joseph when Joseph back then started the allegation that WrestleFan & someone else were the same person. ”
I can’t remember what article that was or why I said WrestleFan and whoever else wasn’t the same person. Maybe I doubted myself and what I saw. Maybe I just gave in to move past it. I can’t remember at all. I also at one point said Trump derangement syndrome didn’t exist and clearly it does.
@Joseph
No idea why you’re still trying to use logic. It’s been debunked…
@WrestleRoid #2
Not reading that. Hope you come up with something better by morning.
@Joseph
Well, from the looks of Luke & DB, I’d say Biden/Harris Derangement Syndrome exists, and they’ve got it bad.
@Joseph
There’s that writing style again. “Me. Me! Meeeeeee!”
@Luke
Just some observations:
Not sure how it’s a “selfish” writing style when the person making the comment not even once mentions themself or puts themself in the spotlight.
If I didn’t know any better, I’d almost believe that your claim of understanding language is just as much a lie as the claim of you & the rest of the Trump hydra saying Trump’s better than Biden or Harris.
But, sure; as always, doing whatever you can think of to take that public spotlight off yourself & place it on someone else. Doesn’t help convince people that you’re in the right. But, constantly claiming you are actually shows you engaging in the very behavior you accuse someone else of participating in.
@WrestleRoid #WhoCares
“I’d say” is the key here to the person who “not even once mentions themself or puts themself in the spotlight”. By the way, there is no “public spotlight”, no one cares…
And then we have “If I didn’t know any better, I’d almost believe…”
So there’s another bone, work on eliminating that, at least for some of the “soldiers”. Different names don’t do the trick.
I’m curious, why do you continue to put words in my mouth (one more bone, something else all your “minions” have in common) when I’ve repeatedly said that Trump is an idiot unfit to sell seaweed on the seashore, worse than not only Biden or Harris, but also than lighting firecrackers in your nostrils? Is this supposed to make you look smart? If so, how exactly? Genuine question, just curious about the logic here, but feel free to keep doing it if it makes you happy, you’ve given me so much joy I’m more than willing to give some back…
@Luke
It’s hard to miss
@Luke
You know, you can point out however many times that different people here give their opinion (again, not sure how that highlights them being selfish), but you always seem to forget the point that was made about insulting styles (part of behavior). As it was pointed out, no two people will ever have the same style; everyone is slightly different. So, for you & Joseph to constantly present the same behavior that way, you & “him” aren’t exactly shaking off suspicions of being “distinct” individuals.
And, as far as the thing with Trump, sounds like now, you’re attempting to revise what’s happened. But, the bad thing for you is that, as the old saying goes, “the internet is forever”. Anything you post online not only will forever have a written record, but will also likely exist forever.
@Joseph
So, like I just spotlighted to Luke, if you “two” are attempting to shake off valid arguments of being “distinct” people, the behavior, as far as insulting, is one huge area to work on.
As you yourself just argued, “it’s hard to miss”.
Whoooo?
Please find one instance where I said anything positive about Trump.
Not “give their opinion”. Give their opinion about others and try to spin it as fact. That’s the common denominator – one of many.
I’m not shaking anything off. In fact, I’d love to have created myself, Joseph, and DB. Juggling three distinct personalities, fighting among them, having one of them basically you but looking the other way, and not slip up once over I don’t know how many years now would make me a genius. It’s definitely not as easy as managing any amount of identical ones. Unfortunately, I’m not the genius you strive to make me out to be…
But serious question. Are Woooo! with four o’s and Wooo! with three o’s different personalities? I’m curious, because when ” Woooo! says: October 31, 2024 at 10:28 am “(…) your childish witch-hunt against myself, WrestleFan, Shhh, Wooo!, Rob Dam Van, etc. (…)”, were you talking about a different person, or just slipped up… sorry, I meant to say, was joking again?
@Luke
All that needs to be said…
Dude, keep it up. For as much as you deny the truth & throw accusations at others, the behavior you display here isn’t helping your case any. In fact, it’s actually lending credence to points being made against you.
FYI: Notice the language used? Just so you stop with the “selfish” crap, there was NO mention of whose attacking you, even though someone airing their opinion is anything but selfish.
Not to mention, seems like you seem to believe that you & your hydra are entitled to certain personality traits (sarcasm, mocking, among other things) that you’ll attack others for. And, that’s not going to help your case either.
So now, the waiting game for your next attempt at “deflection & projection” (to use an old saying), which, more likely than not, will continue fueling the valid points against you.
@AmericanWrestleRoid
Thank you, weekend started on the right foot. Nice, concise, and dumb as a bag of rocks. Won’t disappoint you, won’t let it go to waste. Also, thank you for admiring me as much as I admire you and actually waiting for what I will say next. Like I said, I’m more then willing to give back.
Never said anything was selfish, by the way, that’s just you putting words into my mouth again. While I called you many things, selfish was not one of them. Feel free to do another bit of research on that one while you’re searching for my Trump praise…
Putting words into people’s mouths, that’s one of the “me” aspects of your game. You took it too literally, it’s not a question of style. Think substance. If you really want to eliminate it, you first need to first understand it. Let me know if you have any questions, I will be happy to help you get on the right track.
So about those o’s, you were joking?
@Luke (who gets dominated so much, everyone’s telling him “I’m your father”)
Cool; someone finally gets to use something out of your own playbook against you.
Did you not post “Luke says: November 1, 2024 at 12:42 am @Joseph There’s that writing style again. “Me. Me! Meeeeeee!””? I mean, before that, maybe in the comments section for another article on here, you indirectly accused someone of maybe being forgetful, but it seems you’re the one now not even remembering your own comments.
It very much sounds like you taking someone airing an opinion (when they use “I” or “me”) and interpreting that as them being selfish. But, yet, I could have sworn you said you were the expert on language. Sounds like Gerweck’s resident “language expert” maybe needs a re-educated on the subject.
And, did you not, in the comments section for another article on here, talk about the election being a formality at this point (insinuating that you believe Trump winning is essentially a guarantee at this point)? How is that not someone supporting or endorsing Trump? And, that’s not anyone putting words into your own mouth; rather, it’s someone simply repeating your own words; sounds like you’re very much turning into a Trumper Republican, not liking when people reflect your own comments back at you.
So, at this moment, it very much seems like you once again doing your usual “deflection & projection”, which, by now, I’m no longer surprised at you for doing.
Now, as for the number of o’s in a prior comment…..I distinctly remember you once saying you want people to start putting more work into their public presentation, being more creative in how they put themself forth. So, that’s why I’m now surprised that you didn’t recognize my attempt at imitating The Rock (you know, the guy who regularly used to refer to himself in the third person).
“I mean” (another attempt at irritating morons), what’s not creative about someone trying out talking about themself as though they were someone else?
You want to talk about being “dumb as a bag of rocks”? There’s an old adage of correcting the flaws you have in yourself before you start criticizing someone else for theirs…
@Weeee!
Don’t remember the Rock ever saying anything along the lines of “Austin, Mankind, the Rock, Undertaker, Kane”… But maybe I wasn’t paying attention.
As for Trump, let’s use another analogy. There’s a hurricane a’comin’ through, it’s tearing trees out of the ground, buildings are collapsing, people are being crushed, drowned, everything’s being decimated. I yell “We’re all gonna die!” Does that mean I support the storm, or does it mean I’m afraid of it?
Also, if we don’t actually all die, would that make me pissed that I was wrong, or rather relieved?
Hint: I won’t shed a tear if Trump loses. In fact, they bungled the aftermath of the assassination attempt so bad that I admit right now that (win or lose) I was wrong about it being a forgone conclusion. Didn’t factor in them being much stupider than they should be. (By the way, really looking forward to your discussion with More On Right here after the election regardless of the outcome.)
You whiffed on another mark. Your “joint content” isn’t irritating in the least. I love it even more when you try to “own” it.
And I have plenty of flaws. Just not the ones you want me to have.
Good to know that you’re perfect, though…
Thanks for another day started right.
