Jade Cargill wins inaugural TBS title

Jan 5, 2022 - by Colin Vassallo

Jade Cargill became the inaugural TBS champion last night on Dynamite, beating Ruby Soho in the tournament final.

Cargill received a first round bye and then went on to beat Red Velvet and Thunder Rosa to reach the final while Soho went through all the rounds, beating Penelope Ford, Kris Statlander, and Nyla Rose to get to the final match.

Unfortunately, the tournament final match wasn’t highly rated but Cargill finished off Soho with the Avalanche Jaded finisher to pick up the victory. She then celebrated her title win with her daughter at the top of the stage.

The 29-year-old Cargill had no prior wrestling experience before joining AEW in 2020 and was immediately put in the spotlight being part of an angle with Shaquille O’Neal, Cody and Brandy Rhodes.

Last week, Cargill jumped to Tony Khan’s defense after Big Swole said that AEW had a diversity problem.

I still think that she is one of the least talented AEW wrestlers, regardless of her record.
Was this Tony’s decision, or was it up to Cody and Brandy?

No wonder after Big Swole speaks the truth about AEW

VincePwndAEW. With a name like that, no wonder you’re clueless…she’s been booked strong since her debut. Everybody knew Jade was winning this the day it started. Lol.

Alex, you little AEW fanboy, don`t talk Bullsh’t

This is twice now that AEW has started off their women’s division absolutely stupid. Riho wins the main title as the first ever AEW champ instead of Britt, and now Jade wins the next women’s title instead of Soho. Bravo Tony. Bravo Kenny. Bravo AEW.

Thunder Rosa and Serena Deeb were the two most talented women in the tournament. Cargill has a great look, but she’s not on their level. 🤷‍♂️

Also, Swole is full of it. Shida is a WAP WAP POC (or are the Asians white-adjacent, because too many are too successful for the group to count as a “minority”), and she has the longest title reign among the women. Get a grip, my POC supremacist habibis.

    That butt tho

@ Drew – She has been booked basically from the inception of this idea for the tournament and the title to win, from what I have been reading.

@ Vincewhoever – it had absolutely nothing to do with what has been said lately about diversity in AEW.
