Flair accompanies Andrade El Idolo at Triplemania XXIX

“Nature Boy” Ric Flair made a surprise appearance at last night’s Triplemania XXIX event at the Mexico City Arena in Mexico City, aligning himself with Andrade El Idolo.

Andrade, who was supposed to be accompanied by Konnan for his match against Kenny Omega for the AAA Mega title, told Konnan that he does not need his services as there was someone else more important than him.

And it was Flair who came out with Andrade, but the former NXT champion came up short in his quest to take the title off of Omega, who won the match after a One Winged Angel delivered on the title. Flair even got physical in the ring, chopping Omega and Konnan.

This was Flair’s first non-WWE appearance in several years and it was possible after WWE released him earlier this month. It is strongly believed that the two-time WWE Hall of Famer will be going to All Elite Wrestling very soon.

If he decides to wrestle, and I’m sorry to say this, Ric may need mental help. The man is clearly held together by duct tape and medical wonder. I imagine that Legends contract with WWE paid squat, but this guy gets money and squanders it anyway. He’s got massive debt, and he has a drinking problem so bad, everytime he “quits”, he ends up slipping and thinks “i can manage it this time.” Lets not forget the body count he has in terms of marriages.

Ric… please. Take care of yourself.

I don’t know if he was out of position or his timing (or maybe even Kenny’s timing) was off for that belt grab…but it was freaking awkward. Kenny ended up looking back at him like “well….?”

I can look at this one of two ways. The first is that he’s looking to go to AEW and this somehow puts him in the door. The second is that this was simply a one time thing and he as simply doing a favor for his future son in law.
