WWE Talent Relations head John Laurinaitis reportedly texted the entire RAW and SmackDown roster on Wednesday night to inform them of the WWE releases made earlier in the day – Braun Strowman, Aleister Black, Lana, Buddy Murphy, Santana Garrett, and Ruby Riott.

Laurinaitis noted in his text to the company that the releases were made due to budget cuts, according to PWInsider. His full text message reads like this:

“Due to Budget cuts the following talent were released today. Braun Strowman, Lana, Buddy Murphy, Santana Garrett, Ruby Riott, and Aleister Black. – John Laurinaitis”

The nerve on them…they made record profits in 2020, but hey, budget cuts ? Whow…

This is a change I do support in principle. If they are supposed to be a crew, have the nerve to tell everyone at once directly rather than just putting it on your website for them to learn which of their friends are leaving.

I’m not going to lie but John Laurinatis had so much potential to be a great on screen heel. Was 100% for him, he fit perfectly in that role to be a powerful authority figure but wwe messed up big time as usual. Wasted potential and idiot wwe creative

Ive been thinking about this for a couple days now… Eva Marie coming back, and a lot of good talent being released (though admittedly, some were stinkers), it was becoming clear to me that Johnny Ace’s influence was being shown since he returned to his position. Him announcing those releases doesnt help that theory.

I highly doubt that if he sent that message, he used their ring names.
