Sammy Guevara pulled from Impact tapings after complaints over creative

Feb 15, 2021 - by Colin Vassallo

It is being reported by multiple insiders that Sammy Guevara was supposed to be part of the Impact Wrestling TV tapings this week but Guevara was pulled after he complained about the creative direction.

Fightful Select and Wrestling Observer both revealed how Guevara traveled to Nashville, Tennessee but was vocal about what he was supposed to do on the show. Impact decided not to deal with him and did not use him at all. The website Slam Wrestling was the first one to shed light on the story, saying it was Jericho’s idea to have Guevara show up on Impact and the angle was green lit after Tony Khan signed off on it and Impact agreed to play along.

While details are not 100% confirmed at this point, Guevara never made it to the Skyway Studios and was told not to report to the building after his complaints were registered and reported to AEW.

Guevara quit The Inner Circle on last week’s Dynamite.

Well i mean Black Taurus was a much better replacement for Abyss than Sammy Guevara would have been.

But i’m at a loss for anyone who considers AEW’s creative directions as superior to Impact’s creative directions.

Sammy Guevara has always struck me as immature and reckless.

There’s a bit more to the story…..but ANYTHING to paint IMPACT in a bad light. Even with D’Amore and Callis turning the product around and consistently producing one of of not the BEST show week in and week out. Sammy was unhappy and Jericho and Khan reached out to change things and IMPACT agreed and then he complained again. He didn’t want to be a part of it clearly….. despite Omega and Matt Hardy and The Good Bros and Private Party and even Tony Khan himself all appearing back and forth….and now NJPW is working with IMPACT as well as AEW. Sammy didn’t want to be involved. Fine. He’s overrated anyhow and kinda a “Vanilla Midget” but IMPACT had NO FAULT and Jericho and Khan both felt bad and worried and reached out to apologise. In fact Chris Jericho is the one who told Sammy not to show up….he said FORGET IT THEN and go home.

Haven’t been real keen on AEW using Impact folks, and vice-versa. AEW should just keep using their own stars, and not bring themselves down by promoting stars from “rival” organizations, in my opinion. If I want to see Impact wrestlers, I’ll just watch Impact.
