– This week’s special edition of AEW Dynamite is a Celebration of Life dedicated to Brodie Lee. It’s also night 1 of the New Year’s Smash.
– The show begins with the All Elite Wrestling roster standing & paying tribute to Brodie Lee while we hear a 10 bell salute. Next up we see a video package by Jon Moxley discussing Brodie Lee.
– Commentators for the night are Excalibur, Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone & Chris Jericho. Justin Roberts is the ring announcer for the night.

Match #1: Colt Cabana & The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) defeated Matt Hardy & Private Party (Isiah Kassidy & Marq Quen). After the match the Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens & Max Caster) come out but are thrown in the ring by SCU (Frankie Kazarian & Christopher Daniels) to be taken out by the Young Bucks & Colt Cabana. Cabana does the Dark Order pose & finally accepts his role into the stable. We see Brodie Lee Jr. at ringside with Alan “5” Angels.

– Darby Allin discusses Brodie Lee & the impact he had not only on him but the entire roster. He finishes by saying he was the one guy he wishes he could’ve had a match with.

– Eddie Kingston cuts a promo saying he loves & misses Brodie Lee on his way to the ring.
Match #2: Lance Archer & Dark Order (Evil Uno & Stu Grayson) defeated Eddie Kingston, The Butcher & The Blade. After the match all 3 men hit Kingston with roaring elbows & then Jake Roberts hits Kingston with a Short Arm Lariat. Archer wore Like Harper attire in honor of Brodie Lee.

– We see a video package from Dax Harwood, Arn Anderson, Colt Cabana & Bryce Remsburg discussing Brodie Lee.

Match #3: Hangman Page & Dark Order (John Silver & Alex Reynolds) defeated The Inner Circle (Santana, Ortiz & MJF). During the match MJP not only disrespects Brodie Jr, he also flipped him off & tore his Dark Order mask off but then Jr. hit MJF with a Kendo Stick. Erick Redbeard (Erick Rowan) came out to help Page, Reynolds & Silver after Wardlow interfered.

– We see a video package from Eddie Kingston who speaks very deeply in his memory of Brodie Lee.

Match #4: Anna Jay & Tay Conti defeated Penelope Ford & Britt Baker. After the match Tony Schiavone goes to the ring to talk to Britt Baker, she says she is sick of the conspiracy around here. She says the whole thing is kind of a big rig then winks and looks up to the sky but Thunder Rosa comes out to attack Britt Baker. The officials break up the brawl between the ladies.

– We see a video package from Chris Jericho discussing how he was lucky to have gotten to wrestle Brodie Lee 27 times, he speaks very highly of him.

Match #5: Preston “10” Vance, Cody Rhodes & Orange Cassidy defeated Team Taz (Ricky Starks, Brian Cage & Powerhouse Hobbs) in the Brodie Lee Jr. dream 6-Man Tag Team Match. After the match Hook, Hobbs & Cage attack Vance, Rhodes & Cassidy. The lights go out & Darby Allin comes out but then the lights go out again & Sting arrives, they walk to the ring as a duo but Team Taz retreats back to the ramp.

– We see Cody Rhodes in the ring with a emotional speech about Brodie Lee. He specially mentions how there has been so much people to be positively affected by Brodie Lee. He introduced “-1” Brodie Lee Jr. We then see Brodie with his mother, Tony Khan & Preston Vance come down to the ring. Brodie Jr. stares at his father’s retired ring boots & a purple bandana. Tony Khan awards Brodie Jr the TNT Championship & in doing so says his father was the greatest TNT Champion ever. Khan does a speech & we see a video package celebrating Brodie Lee.
