Biography

– Akiyoshi began his career with FMW, working under various gimmicks as an enhancement talent
– In 1990, Akiyoshi began working for Japan’s UWF promotion under his real name
– In June 1990, Akiyoshi became known as ‘Coolie SZ’
– Akiyoshi moved to Mexico in early 1991, working for UWA
– On November 8, 1991, Punish (Akiyoshi) & Crush defeated Los Cowboys (Silver King & El Texano) in the final of a tournament to become the first UWA/UWF Intercontinental Tag Team Champions. This was the first of many tag team titles won by the future Gedo & Jado
– On January 19, 1992, Punish & Crush defeated Lightning Kid & Jerry Lynn and Los Villanos (IV & V) to retain the UWA/UWF Intercontinental Tag Team Titles
– On April 19, Punish & Crush defeated Gran Hamada & Transformer to retain the UWA/UWF Intercontinental Tag Team Titles
– On June 21, Punish & Crush defeated Scorpio Jr & Shu El Guerrero to regain the UWA/UWF Intercontinental Tag Team Titles, having lost them a week earlier, but the team would separate immediately after winning the titles
