Why Vince McMahon Dropped “Matt” from Riddle’s Name

WWE has dropped Matt Riddle’s first name and he’ll simply be referred to as “Riddle” going forward. According to a report from Fightful, Vince McMahon made the call to change Riddle’s ring name. The change came following his match with Sheamus on RAW. McMahon was said to have been “fired up” about the match and was very complimentary to both men following it.

After the match, McMahon made the call to change Riddle’s name and change his character to a more serious presentation. Riddle is said to be very supportive of the idea.
