Biography

– Goto was a high-school classmate of fellow New Japan star Katsuyori Shibata. The pair competed in amateur wrestling during their school days
– Goto joined the New Japan dojo in 2001, but left soon afterwards due to suffering a shoulder injury
– Goto returned to the dojo in November 2002
– Goto wrestled his first match on July 6, 2003, losing to Ryusuke Taguchi
– Goto won his first match on September 15, defeating Naofumi Yamamoto
– At Nexess IV, Goto defeated Yujiro
– At Nexess V, Goto won the 2005 Young Lion Cup, defeating Hiroyuki Ito in the final
– Goto teamed with Yuji Nagata to win the 2005 Samurai TV Openweight Tag Team Tournament, defeating Shinsuke Nakamura & Wataru Inoue in the final
