Hardy released from hospital, Khan says no concussion

Matt Hardy was released from hospital yesterday afternoon and AEW President Tony Khan said that he is not suffering from any concussion, contradicting Matt’s wife’s statement on Twitter earlier in the day.

Hardy suffered a nasty head bump on Sunday during his match when he was speared off a scissors lift and missed the table, with his head crashing on the concrete floor. Despite looking totally knocked out, Matt was allowed to continue his match after AEW ringside physician Dr. Sampson cleared him to compete. The decision, which came universally under fire, was defended by Khan.

After Matt was discharged from hospital, Khan took it to Twitter to announce the news. “Matt’s ok, we sent him to the hospital as a precaution & he’s passed the MRI + CT scans, he doesn’t have a concussion, and he’s being driven home now,” he wrote, adding that Hardy will be at Dynamite on Wednesday night.
