Why August 23rd is a special day for former WCW grappler

So tomorrow is August 23rd. That’s a pretty big day in my world, because tomorrow marks 11 years of total sobriety.

I post about this day every year. I don’t do it to get a pat on the back or to be congratulated. I talk about it because if this old sinner can get sober, I believe anyone who truly desires to change can.

I’ve seen the devastating effects drugs and alcohol can have on people, families and relationships. Often I think one of the only reasons GOD allowed me to live through such dark times was to be able to help others.

I’m thankful for my family and my friends who stood by me during my worst times and loved me anyway. I’m also thankful to know how much GOD loves me and I’m living proof of HIS forgiveness and grace.

I can say that sober living beats anything I ever did under the influence. Living for GOD and keeping HIM first is the best decision I’ve ever made.
