Notes on Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson, Kenny Omega, and Dark Side of the Ring

Apr 24, 2020 - by James Walsh

– Karl Anderson has been counting down to the end of his non-compete clause from WWE, with teases of bullets. This led to some to speculate that he and Luke Gallows could end up going back to NJPW to be part of the Bullet Club.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that there is currently no deal in place for either Anderson or Gallows to return. Normally, an offer to return may have been made, but for the time being due to the situation in the world, it hasn’t.

– DDT Pro Wrestling announced that they have been forced to cancel the Wrestle Peter Pan 2020 event, due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Kenny Omega, who was scheduled to return to Japan for the event, spoke about the cancellation….

He said: “It is with great disappointment and regret that I cannot come to Japan. I have to miss the Saitama Super Arena show. All of our lives have changed because of the coronavirus … Until the coronavirus calms down, I’ll be here waiting it out, staying inside, waiting for my next opportunity to see you guys, my friends and family in the DDT Universe. All the friends and family I have in Japan, I can’t wait to make my return. I’m counting the days and I promise you as soon as I have a chance I will be back.”

PWInsider reports that VICE TV will air the Dark Side of the Ring: After Dark with Chris Getard episode focusing on the Dino Bravo episode on April 28th at 9:30PM ET after the “extended” edition of the Bravo episode airs on VICE TV. Brian Blair, Ricky Morton, and Dutch Mantel are all set to appear on the May 5th edition of After Dark to discuss the David Schultz episode following the extended edition of that episode airing.
