– Janela has stated that in his early career, he often lied about his age and training to promoters in order to receive bookings
– On October 30, 2009, Janela defeated Mikey Pacifica in a Falls Count Anywhere Match to win the NWS Cruiserweight Title
– On November 6, Janela defeated Steve Scott to retain the NWS Cruiserweight Title
– On November 20, Janela defeated JD Smoothie & Jon Justice to retain the NWS Cruiserweight Title
– On February 5, 2010, Janela defeated JD Smoothie to retain the NWS Cruiserweight Title
– The next day, Janela defeated Ryan Rumble to retain the NWS Cruiserweight Title
