AJ Styles recently said in an interview that he was scared to death that nobody was going to know who he was, when he came out at the 2016 Royal Rumble. “I thought there was going to be crickets. I thought the crowd was going to be like “who the heck is this guy?” When my music hit and I walked out, I could barely hear myself think. It was truly overwhelming. I was actually supposed to run down to the ring, but, I was kind of frozen. It was a truly humbling experience.”

Styles also recalls not liking his theme song in the beginning, because it actually wasn’t meant for him. “I don’t think WWE had enough time to create me a theme, because our deal came together pretty quickly.
