7/10/19 WWE NXT Recap

The opening credits roll. Beth Phoenix, Mauro Ranallo, and Nigel McGuinness are on commentary.

Io Shirai’s music hits, and she makes her way to the ring. She says she doesn’t need any friends and doesn’t need any of the fans. She drops the mic and leaves.

The Velveteen Dream is at a podium answering questions. Dream dodges questions about his next challenger and then says Roderick Strong got lucky a few weeks ago. He says Strong is not good enough to experience the Dream one-on-one.

Later tonight: The Street Profits defend the NXT Tag Team Championship against the Brit-Am Brawlers. Up next: Damian Priest.

Match #1 – Singles Match: Damian Priest vs. Blanco Loco
Priest kicks Loco in the head and then delivers an uppercut in the corner. Priest tosses Loco across the ring and then delivers a clothesline. Priest delivers another lariat and then delivers a spin kick and the Reckoning and gets the pin fall.
Winner: Damian Priest

A vignette for Killian Dain airs. He returns to NXT soon.

Match #2 – NXT Breakout Tournament First Round Match: Boa vs. Jordan Myles
Boa takes Myles down and applies a side headlock. Myles counters into a wrist-lock, but Boa turns it into one of his own. Myles gets free and takes Boa down with an arm-drag. Myles takes Boa down with a dropkick and applies a wrist-lock. Boa gets free and kicks Myles in the chest. Boa delivers a few knee strikes and puts him in the ropes and delivers an ax kick to the chest. Boa delivers a few more knee strikes and then takes Myles to the corner. Boa delivers more knees and goes for a kick, but Myles blocks it. Boa comes back and sends Myles to the corner and then drops him with a suplex. Boa goes for the cover, but Myles kicks out at two. Boa applies a modified rear naked choke, and then kicks him in the chest again. Boa goes for a few more kick, but Myles dodges them and then delivers a few chops. Myles takes Boa to the corner and kicks him in the chest repeatedly. Myles delivers a dropkick and then a spinning lariat in the corner. Myles goes up top and hits the Midnight Star for the pin fall.
Winner: Jordan Myles

Next week: the final First Round Match in the NXT Breakout Tournament, featuring Bronson Reed vs. Dexter Lumis.

Shayna Baszler is backstage. She says Mia Yim has a great story, but it’s the most common story. She says it takes a lot more to impress her, and when they are in the ring with her, the story always ends the same: tap, nap, or snap.

Brit-Am Brawlers and The Street Profits are shown warming up backstage.

A vignette for Keith Lee is shown. He says he has faced numerous types of guys in his career, but he has never been the chosen one. He says he has always been the one who ends up on top and everyone will bask in his glory. He says year one did not go the way he wanted, so there will be changes in year two. He says limitless isn’t going to cut it anymore. He says he will become infinite.

William Regal says on next week’s NXT, Kushida will take on Apollo Crews.

In addition, Adam Cole will defend the NXT Championship next week.

Match #3 – NXT Tag Team Championship Match: The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) (c) vs. The Brit-Am Brawlers (Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan)
Ford and Lorcan start the match and Lorcan applies a wrist-lock. Ford turns it into one of his own and tags in Dawkins. Dawkins applies a waist-lock and rolls Lorcan around the ring. Dawkins turns it into a headlock, but Lorcan turns it around and tags in Burch. Burch applies a side-headlock, but Dawkins turns it into one of his own. Burch sends him off the ropes, but Ford tags in and The Profits drop The Brawlers with double flapjacks. Dawkins holds The Brawlers on both and Ford delivers a double Bonsai Drop. Dawkins tags back in and Burch kicks him in the midsection. Burch delivers a dropkick from the ropes and tags in Lorcan. The Brawlers drop Dawkins with a double Russian leg sweep. Lorcan goes for the cover, but Dawkins kicks out at two. Burch tags back in and suplexes Dawkins to the mat. Burch delivers a series of punches and kicks and then locks in a cross-face submission, but Ford breaks it up.
Burch delivers a series of rights to Dawkins and then goes for a dropkick from the ropes, but Dawkins dodges it. Lorcan and Ford tag in and Ford drops The Brawlers with a series of clotheslines. Ford slams Lorcan to the mat and dropkicks Burch. Ford takes Lorcan down with a belly-to-back suplex and connects with a standing moonsault. Ford goes for the cover, but Lorcan kicks out. Dawkins tags in and splashes Lorcan in the corner. Ford connects with a clothesline in the corner and then The Profits slam Lorcan to the mat. Dawkins goes for the cover, but Lorcan kicks out. Ford tags in and Dawkins goes up top. They set up for the Electric Chair, but Lorcan shoves Ford into the corner. Burch tags in an The Brawlers double-team Ford. Lorcan suplexes Ford to the mat an Burch goes for the cover, but Ford kicks out at two.
Burch drops Ford with a German suplex, but Dawkins tags in. Lorcan drops Dawkins, Ford drops Lorcan, Burch drops Ford, and Dawkins drops Burch to leave all four guys lying. Dawkins and Burch roll to the floor as Lorcan and Ford get face to face. Lorcan delivers a few chops, but Ford comes back with a kick and a knee. Ford runs the ropes and takes out Burch with a suicide dive. Lorcan does the same, but Dawkins cuts him off. Dawkins slams Lorcan in the ring and Ford delivers the frog splash. Dawkins rolls into the cover and gets the pin fall.
Winners and still NXT Tag Team Champions: The Street Profits
-After the match, Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly come to the stage and sarcastically clap for The Profits.
