Charlotte Flair recently spoke with the San Antonio Express News about comparisons to her father, her feud with Becky Lynch, the Evolution PPV, and more. Highlights are below.

On chasing her father, Ric Flair’s 17 World Title reigns: “I joked about it one time on TV that ‘Hey, I am more than halfway to beating my dad’s record,’ but to me it is more about my work and about getting better,” Flair said. “I feel like the Queen is the Queen with or without the title. So, it is one of those things where if I do pass the record it is because … I won’t take no for an answer and I won’t settle until I get better and get in that next storyline. And whatever role I need to play, I’ll play.”

On how Becky Lynch beating her made her “The Man”: “That was our first pay-per-view singles match after SummerSlam,” Flair said. “That was the beginning of what ended up being this tremendous rivalry. So, that is what is most memorable. Once Becky won, she transformed into The Man. Her beating me made her The Man.”

On the impact of the Evolution PPV: “Having an all-women’s pay-per-view that did so well and trended globally during the World Series just goes to show how important the women are and what we have evolved into. We are superstars,” Flair said. “But for me, Evolution was a different role, and it was a breakout moment of showing the audience a different side. … It was a growing moment for me, and since it was the first Last Woman Standing match at a pay-per-view, it really highlighted the physicality and storytelling that we can do. It will go down as one of my favorite matches.”
