5/29/19 WWE NXT UK Recap: Gallus in Action; Gallagher vs. Ohno; Storm vs. Samuels Title Match

The show opens with a recap of last week’s main event, in which Walter retained the WWE United Kingdom Championship against Pete Dunne with the help of Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel. The opening credits roll. Nigel McGuinness and Vic Joseph are on commentary.

Walter’s music hits, and he makes his way to the ring with Aichner and Barthel. Barthel says they are hear to lead everyone to a better NXT UK and to raise their flag and restore the honor and professionalism of their sport. He says they are the ones to lead and hold true power. Aichner says no one will be able to stop them, and Walter says they will be known as Imperium. Pete Dunne’s music hits and he comes to the ring, along with Tyler Bate and Trent Seven. All six men brawl, and the camera feed cuts out after a camera man goes down.

Backstage, Sid Scala says in two weeks, Imperium and British Strong Style will face off in a Six-Man Tag Team Match.

Match #1 – Tag Team Match: Gallus (Mark Coffey and Wolfgang) vs. Carlos Romo and A-Kid
Wolfgang attacks both guys right at the bell and stomps away on Romo. He tosses him into the corner and Coffey tags in. Coffey delivers knee strikes and tosses Romo across the ring. He tosses him again and delivers an uppercut in the corner. Romo comes back with a roll-up for one, but Coffey kicks out. Kid tags in, but Coffey takes him down with a choke slam. Wolfgang tags in and connects with a running senton and then smashes Kid in the corner. Coffey tags in and applies a rear chin-lock down on the mat and then applies a Full Nelson and slams Kid to the mat. Coffey goes for a knee drop, but Kid moves and tags in Romo. Coffey drops Romo to the mat and tags in Wolfgang. Wolfgang slams Romo to the mat with a power slam and gets the pin fall.
Winners: Gallus

Xia Brookside is backstage for an interview. Brookside says Rhea Ripley was another bigger girl who thought she could pick on a smaller girl in the women’s division. She says Jinny is doing the same thing by bringing in Jazzy Gabert. Isla Dawn walks up and says it was a disgrace what happened to Brookside and says they should team up.

Joseph Conners cuts a promo. He calls out Ilja Dragunov and says we will see who is the baddest Superstar in NXT UK.

A recap of the Fatal Four-Way Qualifying Series is shown. Joe Coffey, Jordan Devlin, Dave Mastiff, and Travis Banks will meet next week in a Fatal Four-Way Match, and the winner will become the number one contender for the WWE United Kingdom Championship.

Toni Storm is backstage. She defends the NXT UK Women’s Championship against Nina Samuels in tonight’s main event.

Match #2 – Singles Match: Kassius Ohno vs. Gentleman Jack Gallagher
They lock up and Ohno drops Gallagher to the mat and applies a wrist-lock. Gallagher gets free and applies a side-headlock. Ohno sends him to the ropes to break the hold, but Gallagher goes for a waist-lock. Ohno gets free and applies a modified ankle lock. Gallagher spins free and goes after Ohno. Ohno trips him up and goes back to the toe and ankle lock. Ohno turns it into a shoulder bar, but Gallagher counters with a head-scissors hold. Ohno gets free, but Gallagher applies a wrist-lock. Ohno takes Gallagher down, but Gallagher counters with a side-headlock. Ohno counters back and applies a single-leg Boston Crab. Gallagher gets out, but Ohno applies a Full Nelson. Gallagher breaks the hold, but Ohno takes him down to the mat. They lock up again and Ohno drops Gallagher to the mat. Gallagher comes back and sends Ohno to the corner.
Ohno comes back and stomps away on Gallagher. Ohno delivers a right hand that busts Gallagher open and goes for the cover, but Gallagher gets to the ropes to stop the count. Ohno applies a single leg modified Boston Crab, and then goes back to the toe and ankle lock. Gallagher fights back with right hands, but Ohno drops him with a kick to the face. Ohno goes for the cover, but Gallagher kicks out at two. Ohno goes for the rolling elbow, but Gallagher counters with a headbutt. Gallagher delivers a headbutt and then body shots. Gallagher takes Ohno down and goes for an arm-bar. He locks it in and then a modified triangle submission. Ohno powers out, but Gallagher delivers a headbutt. Ohno comes back and slams Gallagher to the mat.
They exchange shots on the mat and fight to their feet. Gallagher comes off the ropes, but Ohno catches him with a forearm. Ohno gets the pin fall, but Gallagher was under the ropes during the pin.
Winner: Kassius Ohno

Piper Niven is backstage for an interview. She says actions speak louder than words and she didn’t come to NXT UK to talk. She says if Rhea Ripley wants to fight, she’ll be waiting.

Nina Samuels is warming up backstage. The main event is up next.

Match #3 – NXT UK Women’s Championship Match: Toni Storm (c) vs. Nina Samuels
They lock up Samuels applies a side-headlock. Storm gets free and kicks Samuels in the face. Storm trips Samuels up and delivers a dropkick. Storm goes for the cover, but Samuels kicks out at two. Storm delivers a few uppercuts and goes for another cover, but Samuels kicks out again. Storm delivers rights and lefts in the corner, but Samuels comes back with a kick. Samuels delivers right hands down on the mat and then wraps Storm in the ropes. Samuels delivers a dropkick and goes for the cover, but Storm kicks out at two. Samuels applies am arm-bar down on the mat and tosses Storm into the corner. Samuels chokes Storm and then takes her down with a snapmare suplex. Samuels goes for the cover, but Storm kicks out again. Samuels delivers forearm shots, but Storm comes back with some of her own. Samuels counters and trips Storm into the turnbuckles.
Samuels drives her knees into Storm’s back and goes for the cover, but Storm kicks out at two. Storm comes back with a kick to the midsection and then takes Samuels down with a German suplex. Storm kicks Samuels in the face and goes for Storm Zero, but Samuels gets free. Storm grabs Samuels and locks in a modified STF, but Samuels makes it to the ropes. They exchange forearms on the apron, but Samuels connects with a kick. Samuels splashes onto Storm in the ring and goes for the cover, but Storm kicks out at two. Samuels goes up top, but Storm cuts her off. Samuels delivers a back-breaker, but Storm comes back with a headbutt. Storm goes for the cover, but Samuels kicks out at two. Storm delivers another German suplex and goes for the cover, but Samuels kicks out at two. Samuels comes back with an inside cradle for two, and then delivers a back-breaker.
Samuels goes for the proper cover this time, but Storm kicks out at two again. Samuels goes up top, but Storm cuts her off. Samuels shoves her down and delivers a missile dropkick. Samuels goes for the cover, but Storm kicks out again. Storm comes back with a headbutt and then delivers a few suplexes. Storm hits Storm Zero and gets the pin fall.
