5/28/19 WWE 205 Live Recap: Kanellis vs. Kendrick; Dar in Action; Carrillo vs. Gallagher Main Event

The opening credits roll. Aiden English, Nigel McGuinness, and Vic Joseph are on commentary.

Match #1 – Singles Match: The Brian Kendrick vs. Mike Kanellis (w/Maria Kanellis)
Kendrick connects with a series of right hands and then drops Kanellis with a clothesline. Kendrick delivers forearm shots, but Kanellis comes back with a shoulder tackle. Kendrick comes right back and goes for the Captain’s Hook, but Kanellis gets to the floor. Kendrick follows him and slams him into the barricade. Kendrick slams Kanellis into the announce table, but Kanellis comes back with a kick. Kendrick slams Kanellis into the barricade, but Kanellis counters with a boot to the face. Kanellis suplexes Kendrick into the barricade. Kanellis tosses Kendrick back into the ring and goes for the cover, but Kendrick kicks out at two. Kanellis stomps on Kendrick and then delivers another suplex. Kanellis goes for the cover, but Kendrick kicks out again. Kanellis apples a rear chin-lock, but Kendrick fights back. Kanellis slams Kendrick with a spine-buster and goes for the cover, but Kendrick kicks out.
Kanellis delivers a few chops in the corner, but Kendrick comes back and locks in the Captain’s Hook. Kanellis makes it to the ropes to break the hold. Kendrick suplexes Kanellis to the floor and tosses him back into the ring. Kendrick goes for the cover, but Kanellis kicks out at two. Kendrick locks in the Captain’s Hook again, but Kanellis fights to his feet and slams Kendrick to the mat. Kendrick and Kanellis exchange chops and boots to the face. Kanellis drops Kendrick with a clothesline, but Kendrick comes back and hits Sliced Bread #2. Kendrick goes for the cover, but Kanellis kicks out at two. Kanellis delivers two superkicks and then slams him to the mat. Kanellis delivers a swinging neck-breaker and gets the pin fall.
Winner: Mike Kanellis

Drake Maverick is backstage with Tony Nese. Nese says he is getting restless and Akira Tozawa walks in. Nese says Tozawa has been on a hot streak and he wants to defend his WWE Cruiserweight Championship against him. Maverick says he has a lot on his plate and doesn’t want to make any rash decisions, but he will take it under consideration.

Ariya Daivari is in the trainer’s room. The trainer says he is healing up nicely, but Daivari tells him to leave. Daivari says he has six stitches in his ear due to the match last week. He says he is not done with the title, but he has unfinished business with Oney Lorcan as well.

Match #2 – Singles Match: Noam Dar vs. Mike Karma
Karma asks for a handshake, but Dar turns him down. Dar backs Karma into the corner, but the referee separates them. Dar applies a wrist-lock and smacks Karma across the face. Dar tosses Karma to the floor and allows him to get back into the ring. Dar tosses Karma to the floor on the other side and allows him back in again. Karma fights back with some forearm shots and a chop, but Dar cuts him off. Dar trips Karma up and delivers the Nova Roller for the pin fall.
Winner: Noam Dar
-After the match, Dar says he was never off track and the only reason he may have had some set backs was because of the jet lag of flying back and forth between NXT UK and 205 Live. Dar says he is solid beyond belief and is ready to be a star on two continents.

Drake Maverick is backstage. He says he cannot give anyone the scoop on who else is in consideration for a WWE Cruiserweight Championship match. The WWE 24/7 Champion, R-Truth, is backstage, and Maverick spots him and chases after him.

Oney Lorcan cuts a promo. He says he came up short last week and he owns that. He says Daivari wants to blame him, but the only thing he will take credit for is the stitches in Daivari’s ear. Lorcan says the next time they will meet, he’ll give him another set of stitches to even it out.

We see another strange Instagram post from Drew Gulak.

Match #3 – Singles Match: Gentleman Jack Gallagher vs. Humberto Carrillo
Gallagher applies a wrist-lock, but Carrillo counters with one of his own. Gallagher counters back and takes Carrillo to the mat and applies a hammer-lock combo. They exchange quick pin attempts and then Carrillo trips Gallagher up. Carrillo applies a side-headlock, but Gallagher gets free. Carrillo takes Gallagher down with an arm-drag and applies a hammer-lock on the mat. Carrillo keeps the wrist-lock applied, but Gallagher sends him off the ropes. Carrillo counters with an arm-drag and applies the hammer-lock again. Carrillo sends Gallagher to the corner, but Gallagher comes back with a roll-up for two. Carrillo drops Gallagher with another arm-drag, but Gallagher comes back with an uppercut. Gallagher sends Carrillo to the floor and slams him into the barricade. Carrillo gets back into the ring, but Gallagher drops a knee across his chest.
Gallagher stomps away on Carrillo in the corner and applies an abdominal stretch on the mat. Gallagher turns it into a rear chin-lock and then delivers a snap suplex. Gallagher goes for the cover, but Carrillo kicks out at two. Gallagher applies the rear chin-lock again and then delivers a dropkick. Gallagher goes for a couple covers, but Carrillo kicks out both times. Carrillo comes back with a back body drop and then connects with a cross-body. Carrillo sends Gallagher to the floor and connects with a suicide dive. Carrillo clotheslines Gallagher in the corner and connects with a standing moonsault. Carrillo goes for the cover, but Gallagher kicks out at two. Carrillo delivers an enzuiguri and goes for the cover, but Gallagher kicks out at two again. Carrillo connects with a few forearms, but Gallagher comes back and suplexes Carrillo from the top.
Carrillo rolls out of the ring. Gallagher charges at him, but Carrillo slams him into the barricade. They battle on the apron and then Carrillo delivers a missile dropkick. Carrillo delivers a Japanese arm-drag and goes for the cover, but Gallagher kicks out at two. Carrillo goes up top and goes for the moonsault, but Gallagher kicks him in the face. Gallagher delivers a dropkick and then takes Carrillo out with a suicide dive. Gallagher goes up top, but Carrillo counters with a roll-up for two. Both men drop each other with a clothesline. Both men exchange right hands and Carrillo kicks Gallagher in the back of the head. Gallagher goes for a suplex, but Carrillo counters with a DDT. Carrillo hits the splash from the top and gets the pin fall.
Winner: Humberto Carrillo
-After the match, they shake hands and hug before Gallagher leaves the ring.
