USA Network reportedly not happy Roman Reigns moved to Smackdown

USA Network was apparently “very upset” Roman Reigns was moved over to Smackdown Live in the Superstar Shakeup 3 weeks ago.

The move was apparently done at the request of Fox, where Smackdown will be heading come October. WWE quickly called an audible and implement the very convoluted “Wild Card Rule” in which 4 superstars can randomly jump from Raw and Smackdown each week.

WWE assured USA that Roman would still be a fixture on Monday Nights, once every few weeks. Dave Meltzer said on Wednesday’s WOR that both Fox and USA were not pleased with the Wild Card stipulation and are calling for an end to the brand split all together, so both networks would be getting every superstar on their shows each week.

It was reported earlier this month that Fox is looking for huge ratings in the three’s when the blue brand moves to their network in 5 months. Meltzer made note that a 3 rating for the show is most likely not going to happen, regardless of network, as Friday nights are a “death spot” for all shows on cable television.
