4/10/19 WWE NXT Recap: Aliyah/LeRae; Burch/Ryker; Aichner/Barthel vs. Street Profits

NXT opens with highlights from the matches at NXT TakeOver: New York. The show opens with the new theme song and opening video, and then Mauro Ranallo, Nigel McGuinness, and Percy Watson welcome us to the show.

Match #1 – Singles Match: Candice LeRae vs. Aliyah (w/Vanessa Borne)
Aliyah applies a headlock and takes LeRae down. LeRae comes back with an arm-drag, but Aliyah goes to the apron. Aliyah drives a shoulder into LeRae, but LeRae comes back with a dropkick that sends Aliyah to the floor. LeRae kicks Aliyah in the face and goes after Borne. Aliyah comes back and slams LeRae into the ropes. Aliyah slams LeRae to the mat and drops a knee and then stomps away on her in the corner. Aliyah goes for the cover, but LeRae kicks out at two. Aliyah locks in a straitjacket submission, but LeRae gets free. LeRae sends Aliyah into the corner, but Aliyah comes back with a boot to the chest. Aliyah goes for a cover, but LeRae kicks out at two. Aliyah slaps LeRae, but LeRae kicks her down to the mat. LeRae delivers a clothesline and a forearm shot. LeRae connects with a step-up senton and then a neck-breaker. LeRae connects with a springboard moonsault and gets the pin fall.
Winner: Candice LeRae

We see highlights from the NXT North American Championship Match from NXT TakeOver: New York, in which The Velveteen Dream retained over Matt Riddle. We then see a selfie promo from Dream. He says he can handle the spotlight, but Buddy Murphy walks by and Dream says he couldn’t handle the spotlight. Murphy argues with him a bit about stealing the show and Dream asks him where his title is.
We see that Danny Burch will take on Jaxson Ryker later tonight.

We see highlights from the NXT Tag Team Championship Match from NXT TakeOver: New York, in which War Raiders retained over Aleister Black and Ricochet. We also see footage of the arrival of Kushida to NXT and see him signing his contract with William Regal and Triple H by his side.

Match #2 – Singles Match: Danny Burch (w/Oney Lorcan) vs. Jaxson Ryker (w/Steve Cutler and Wesley Blake)
Burch dropkicks Ryker into the corner and then delivers a series of left hands and chops. Ryker comes back with a right hand and slams Burch into the corner. Burch comes back, but Ryker rips him down to the mat. Ryker delivers right hands and then a back elbow. Ryker goes for the cover, but Burch kicks out at two. Ryker delivers a belly-to-back suplex and then connects with a diving headbutt. Ryker goes for the cover, but Burch kicks out again. Ryker connects with a right hand and then drops a knee. Burch comes back with a jaw-breaker and few slaps. Burch connects with a few clotheslines and then a step-up enzuiguri. Burch connects with a dropkick from the ropes and then knocks Blake and Cutler to the mat. Lorcan takes them out with a suicide dive and then Burch gets a two count on a roll-up. Ryker delivers the Widow Maker and gets the pin fall.
Winner: Jaxson Ryker
-After the match, Ryker goes after Burch again, but Lorcan intervenes. The Forgotten Sons gain the numbers advantage and leave Burch and Lorcan lying.

We see highlights from the NXT Women’s Championship Match from NXT TakeOver: New York, in which Shayna Baszler retained over Bianca Belair, Io Shirai, and Kairi Sane. We then see an interview with Baszler. Baszler says it doesn’t matter who or how many are put in front of her, she is taking them out and never losing the title.
We see that The Street Profits will take on Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel in tonight’s main event.

We see highlights from the WWE United Kingdom Championship Match from NXT TakeOver: New York, in which Walter defeated Pete Dunne to become the new champion. We then see footage of Dunne backstage after the match. Dunne simply says there will be a rematch and walks away.
We see highlights from the NXT Championship Match from NXT TakeOver: New York, in which Johnny Gargano defeated Adam Cole to win the vacant championship. We then see footage of The Undisputed ERA after the match. Adam Cole calls out Roderick Strong and asks what he was thinking and then tells the cameraman to turn the camera off.

We see that The Velveteen Dream will defend the NXT North American Championship against Buddy Murphy next week.

Match #3 – The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) vs. Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel
Ford and Aichner start the match and Aichner immediately knocks Dawkins to the floor. He backs Ford into the corner and Barthel tags in. They double team Ford, but he comes back with a double dropkick. Barthel kicks Ford in the chest and then slams him down to the mat. Barthel delivers right hands and goes for the cover, but Ford kicks out at two. Aichner tags back in and slams Ford in the corner and stomps away on him. Aichner delivers a snap suplex and goes for the cover, but Ford kicks out. Barthel tags back in and delivers right hands in the corner. Barthel goes for a suplex, but Ford lands on his feet. Aichner tags in and slams Ford to the mat as Barthel connects with a knee to the face. Aichner applies a sleeper down on the mat and then gets a quick two count. Barthel tags back in and connects with an uppercut. Ford is able to get away and tags in Dawkins.
Dawkins drops Aichner and Barthel with shoulder tackles and then suplexes them both. Dawkins splashes Aichner in the corner and Ford tags in. The Profits go for an electric chair, but Barthel shoves Ford to the mat and Aichner sends Dawkins to the floor. Aichner and Barthel deliver basement dropkicks to Ford and then Aichner delivers a brain buster. Barthel takes Dawkins out with a suicide dive and Aichner connects with a double springboard moonsault on Ford. Aichner goes for the cover, but Ford kicks out at two. Barthel tags in, but Ford dodges and Dawkins spears Aichner. Barthel sends Dawkins to the floor, but Dawkins tags in anyway and then he and Ford take Barthel down with an electric chair and Dawkins pins Barthel.
