4/3/19 WWE NXT Recap: War Raiders in Action; Lorcan vs. Ryker; Belair vs. Sane

The opening credits roll, and then Mauro Ranallo, Nigel McGuinness, and Percy Watson welcome us to the show. We see that Bianca Belair and Kairi Sane will go one-on-one later tonight.

Match #1 – Tag Team Match: War Raiders (Hanson and Rowe) vs. Two Local Competitors
Rowe powers both men to the mat and then tosses them across the ring. Hanson tags in and kicks one of the guys in the face. Rowe slams Hanson into the other guy in the corner and then Hanson slams the other down and gets the pin fall.
Winners: War Raiders
-After the match, Rowe says William Regal has allowed them to deliver a message. Hanson says they don’t have to listen, they just have to watch.

Match #2 – Tag Team Match: War Raiders (Hanson and Rowe) vs. Adrian Joaude and Cezar Bononi
Bononi and Hanson start the match and Hanson drops him with a clothesline. Hanson takes Joaude with a back body drop and tags in Rowe. Rowe knees Joaude in the face and tags Hanson back in. Rowe slams Bononi to the mat and then slams Hanson onto Bononi. Rowe and Hanson slam Joaude and Bononi to the mat and then Hanson goes up top. Hanson connects with a leg drop to Bononi and Rowe gets the pin fall.
Winners: War Raiders

We take a look at the video hype package for the match at NXT TakeOver: New York between the WWE United Kingdom Champion, Pete Dunne, and his challenger, Walter.
We see that Oney Lorcan will go one-on-one with Jaxson Ryker up next.

We see a video hyping the WWE Performance Center, and then see that “You Should See Me in a Crown” by Billie Eilish is one of the official theme songs for NXT TakeOver: New York.
We then see an interview with Candice LeRae, but she is interrupted by Aliyah and Vanessa Borne. They says she is a failure just like her husband and she says they both know a lot about failure. She says she is going to earn her title shot and she is going to start with Aliyah.

Match #3 – Singles Match: Oney Lorcan (w/Danny Burch) vs. Jaxson Ryker (w/Steve Cutler and Wesley Blake)
Ryker backs Lorcan into the corner, but Lorcan comes back with a few chops and a side headlock. Ryker sends Lorcan off the ropes and drops him with a back elbow. Ryker drapes Lorcan over the rope and sends him to the floor. Burch gets into it with Cutler and Blake on the outside and Ryker places Lorcan up top. Ryker delivers forearm shots to Lorcan’s back and goes up top. Lorcan fights him off, but Ryker delivers a gut-buster for a two count. Ryker connects with more forearm shots and then delivers a knee lift. Ryker applies a bear hug, but Lorcan fights out of it. Lorcan delivers a few chops and slaps and delivers a few uppercuts. Ryker comes back and power slams Lorcan to the mat and gets the pin fall.
Winner: Jaxson Ryker
-After the match, The Forgotten Sons look to go after Lorcan, but Burch stops them and they back away.

We see the video hype package for the Two-Out-of-Three Falls Match for the vacant NXT Championship at TakeOver: New York between Adam Cole and Johnny Gargano.

We see that “Are You Ready?” by Disturbed is one of the official theme songs for NXT TakeOver: New York. We then see the video hype package for the match at TakeOver between the NXT North American Champion, Velveteen Dream, and his challenger, Matt Riddle.
We take a look back to the match between Dominik Dijakovic and Keith Lee from five weeks ago, which ended in a double countout. We then see their confrontation at the Performance Center from four weeks ago. We see an interview with Lee. He says he showed up to find a conclusion with the issue with Mr. Dijakovic. He says they were bumped from “the event,” meaning TakeOver. He says he and Dijakovic are not the chosen ones and he says that he and Dijakovic will happen in two weeks and he will make sure Dijakovic will bask in his glory.
We see that The Street Profits will take on Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel will take place on next week’s episode, as will Candice LeRae vs. Aliyah.

Match #4 – Singles Match: Bianca Belair vs. Kairi Sane
Belair sends Sane off the ropes, but Sane comes back with a right hand. Belair takes Sane to the apron, but Sane comes back and takes Belair down with the Interceptor and a basement dropkick. Sane connects with the Sliding D and delivers an elbow shot. Sane goes for the cover, but Belair kicks out at two. Sane locks in the Anchor submission, but Belair gets free. Belair power slams Sane to the mat and goes for the cover, but Sane kicks out at two. Belair stomps Sane down in the corner and then delivers a back-breaker. Belair goes for another cover, but Sane kicks out at two again. Sane fights back and goes for the octopus submission, but Belair backs her into the corner. Sane goes for a cross-body, but Belair catches her and delivers a fall-away slam. Belair goes for a standing frog splash, but Sane counters with her knees.
Belair comes back for a suplex, but Sane counters with a DDT. Sane delivers a few slaps and then takes Belair down with a dragon screw leg-whip. Sane delivers an ax kick and then a few neck snaps. Sane connects with the Sliding D again and goes up top. Sane connects with an elbow shot and goes for the cover, but Belair kicks out at two. Sane connects with a spinning back elbow and goes up top again. Belair cuts her off and goes up top as well. Belair delivers a suplex and then connects with a standing moonsault. Belair goes for the cover, but Sane kicks out at two. Belair goes for more covers, but Sane kicks out each time. Belair slams Sane to the mat, but Shayna Baszler gets into the ring and attacks Belair. Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir are with her and they attack Sane.
Match Result: No Contest
Io Shirai rushes the ring for the save and all six women brawl. Referees and the NXT Women’s Division rush the ring to pull everyone apart. Belair tosses Lacey Lane onto a crowd of women on the floor and then Shirai sends Belair to the floor. Shirai goes up top and takes a group out with a moonsault. Shirai grabs the NXT Women’s Championship and holds it in the air in the ring as the show comes to a close.
