Big day…it’s the final day of my contract with @WWE after 26 years.

Today, March 29, marks the last day that Jim Ross will be on the WWE books as from tomorrow, the Hall of Famer will be a free agent.
Ross confirmed earlier this month that he spoke to WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon and mutually agreed to part ways once his current deal is up. Ross signed a two year contract in 2017 after his wife passed away but last year he was only used twice and he feels that he still has a lot to give and needs to get out of the house and be around people more often.
During his Ross Report podcast this week, Ross added that some sort of a deal with AEW will be finalized in the next few days and said that “life is good” at the moment. Ross was highly expected to join the brand new promotion a few months ago but he only confirmed his negotiations with them in an appearance on ESPN last week.
JR concluded that he can contribute in more ways than one to All Elite Wrestling, by either doing play-by-play, or even in a behind-the-scenes role but admitted that those details are still being discussed.
Ross spent a total of 26 years working during various stints with the company.
