ROH Parent Company Purchases YES Network

Mar 9, 2019 - by James Walsh reports that ROH parent company, Sinclair Broadcast Group, is partnering up with several other parties to purchase the Yankee Entertainment and Sports (YES) Network in a $3.5 billion acquisition. The YES Network is a 22 regional sports network that is being sold by Disney as one of the conditions for the 21st Century Fox acquisition.

SBG includes a group of buyers who will now control 80% of the company. The group of buyers also includes the New York Yankees, Amazon, and other private equity investors such as Blackstone. Fox stated that it was not looking to re-acquire any of the networks since it could’ve courted scrutiny from regulators.

The deal is expected to be announced soon. PWInsider pointed out that YES Network has a national feed when it broadcasts NY Yankees games, which could make this network a viable home for a promotion such as ROH.
