More on the Impact to WWE hires

Jan 24, 2019 - by James Walsh

Two of Impact Wrestling’s stars have departed the company in Abyss and Sonjay Dutt, with both said to be headed to WWE. PWInsider reports that an email was sent to the Impact roster informing them of both exits and wishing them well. The belief among multiple people is that they are headed to WWE and will be working there soon. The word is that both exits were amicable and that Impact didn’t want to hold them back from the opportunities they received.

Abyss was one of Impact’s longest-tenured performers, having worked there since 2002, and was inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame last year. He has been working as a producer backstage for the company. Dutt had been involved in the creative aspect of Impact for a while, working alongside Don Callis, Scott D’Amore and Jimmy Jacobs.

Konnan and Tommy Dreamer will replace Dutt on the creative team of Impact.
