11/21/18 WWE NXT Recap: Keith Lee, Lars Sullivan in Action; Cross vs. LeRae Main Event

NXT opens with a quick recap showing footage from all of the matches from NXT TakeOver: WarGames II this past Saturday night. The opening credits then roll, and Mauro Ranallo, Nigel McGuinness, and Percy Watson welcome us to the show.
We see that Lars Sullivan will be in action tonight, as well as Nikki Cross and Candice LeRae going one-on-one.

Match #1 – Singles Match: Keith Lee vs. Fidel Bravo
They lock up and Lee backs Bravo into the corner. Bravo tries to shove him away and then pie-faces him, but Lee comes back with a left jab that drops Bravo to the mat. Lee backs Bravo into the corner and double slaps him across the chest. Lee charges at Bravo, but he dodges and runs the ropes. Lee takes him down with a cross-body block and then delivers the Supernova and gets the pin fall.
Winner: Keith Lee

We take a look back at the NXT Women’s Championship Two-Out-of-Three Falls Match between Shayna Baszler and Kairi Sane from NXT TakeOver: WarGames II, in which Baszler successfully defended her NXT Women’s Championship after all three falls. We see an interview with Baszler, Marina Shafir, and Jessamyn Duke. Baszler says she is the most dominant woman in NXT history and says there is no one that can stop them.
Later tonight, we will see exclusive footage from the match between Aleister Black and Johnny Gargano from NXT TakeOver: WarGames II. Up next, we revisit Matt Riddle’s victory over Kassius Ohno from this past Saturday.

Back from the break, we take a look back at the confrontation and match between Matt Riddle and Kassius Ohno from NXT TakeOver: WarGames II, which was won by Riddle is about seven seconds. We then see an interview with Riddle. He says he is almost speechless and couldn’t ask for more than he TakeOver debut in L.A. He says the fastest knockout in TakeOver history was the cherry on top.

Match #2 – Singles Match: Lars Sullivan vs. Keno Murray
Sullivan smaches Murray in the corner and then drops him with a basement lariat. Sullivan delivers the Freak Accident and gets the pin fall.
Winner: Lars Sullivan
After the match, Sullivan says to let that serve as a warning and an example until he gets what’s coming to him: an NXT Championship Match. Sullivan says just to make sure his point has been registered…then he drops the mic and delivers a series of cross-face shots to Murray. Sullivan goes for a Freak Accident, but Keith Lee rushes the ring and drops Sullivan with a Pounce.

We are reminded that Nikki Cross and Candice LeRae will go one-on-one in tonight’s main event. Up next, we will see exclusive footage of the match and the aftermath between Aleister Black and Johnny Gargano.

Back from the break, we revisit the match from NXT TakeOver: WarGames II between Aleister Black and Johnny Gargano, which was won by Black. We then take a look at exclusive footage of the aftermath. Black ignores all questions related to Gargano and then runs into Candice LeRae. LeRae stares him down and then walks by without saying a word.
We take a look back at the NXT Championship Match between Tommaso Ciampa and The Velveteen Dream from NXT TakeOver: WarGames II, in which Ciampa successfully defended the title. After the break, we will see exclusive footage from after the WarGames Match.

We see Keith Lee and Lars Sullivan confronting each other back stage. They mouth back and forth and Sullivan says he will “see Lee next week.” We see that it is official for next week’s show.
We then take a look back at the build up to the WarGames Match and the WarGames Match itself, which was won by Pete Dunne, Ricochet, and War Raiders.

Match #3 – Singles Match: Nikki Cross vs. Candice LeRae
They lock up and Cross backs LeRae into the corner. LeRae shoves Cross away and Cross shoves her back. LeRae takes Cross to the mat, but Cross slides to the floor and trips LeRae on the apron. Cross put LeRae between the ring and the ring skirt and beats her down. Cross tosses LeRae back into the ring, but LeRae kicks her in the head. LeRae connects with a springboard knee strike and tosses Cross back into the ring. LeRae goes for the cover, but Cross kicks out at two. LeRae delivers a dropkick and goes for another cover, but Cross kicks out at two. Cross comes back with a belly-to-back suplex and delivers a splash in the corner. LeRae comes back with a neck-snap and a back elbow in the corner. LeRae connects with a senton and goes for the cover, but Cross kicks out at two.
LeRae delivers an Unprettier and goes for a springboard moonsault, but Cross moves. Cross drops LeRae with the Purge and goes for the cover, but LeRae kicks out at two. Cross puts LeRae on the top rope and delivers forearm shots. Cross climbs as well, but LeRae attempts a sunset flip power bomb. Cross holds on, but LeRae turns it into an avalanche German suplex. LeRae goes for the cover, but Cross kicks out at two. Cross starts to laugh and LeRae delivers forearm shots that back her into the corner. The referee pulls LeRae away, but she goes right back to Cross. LeRae delivers a knee strike and then stomps Cross’s face into the mat. LeRae locks in the Gargano Escape, but Cross gets to the ropes. LeRae lets go at four and Cross pulls her into the ropes. Cross delivers the Purge from the top rope and gets the pin fall.
