Stephanie McMahon promises that WWE listens to their audience

In an interview with CNBC’s Elizabeth Schulze at Web Summit in Lisbon, Portugal, Stephanie McMahon was asked if she was worried that brand loyalty would disappear as stars begin to disappear.

McMahon answered by saying, “If we’re doing our jobs right, then hopefully we are creating new stars. Always. That’s a part of WWE’s business model. That’s the Performance Center. NXT, which started off as our developmental brand and is now a third global touring brand in and of itself. We don’t do any paid marketing for, it’s all done through digital and social media and it sells out all over the world because our audience is connected to it. Our audience knows that they are part of the reason why these stars make it from NXT to Raw and SmackDown.”

She continued, “That point of connection; giving your audience that voice. Empowering them. Letting them know that their voice matters. I get railed on Twitter that we don’t listen. We really are. And we’re doing it at a ground level that’s unique to WWE.”

Back in September, McMahon said that WWE is successful because they listen to the audience. The comment outraged many on social media with the audience claiming different.
