9/4/18 WWE 205 Live Recap: Metalik vs. Nese; Dar in Action; Alexander vs. TJP Main Event

The credits roll and Nigel McGuinness, Percy Watson, and Vic Joseph welcome us to the show.

Match #1 – Singles Match: Gran Metalik vs. Tony Nese
Nese drops Metalik with a shoulder block, but Metalik comes back with an arm drag. Both men go for a dropkick and then stand at a stalemate. Nese delivers a back elbow, but Metalik comes back with a slap across the chest. Nese kicks Metalik in the midsection and then drops him to the mat. Metalik comes back with a arm-drag and Nese goes to the floor. Metalik connects with a dropkick, but Nese comes back and slams him down onto the apron. Nese goes for a power bomb on the apron, but Metalik counters and kicks Nese in the face. Metalik goes for a hurricanrana on the floor, but Nese catches him and slams him into the barricade. Nese tosses Metalik back into the ring and delivers a Northern Lights suplex and gets a two count. Metalik comes back with chops, but Nese backs him into the corner. Nese goes for a gut-buster, but Metalik turns in into a DDT.
Metalik delivers a dropkick and goes for the cover, but Nese kicks out at two. Nese comes back with a spinning heel kick. Nese tries to go up top, but Metalik cuts him off and delivers a hurricanrana to the floor. Metalik goes up top and goes for a moonsault, but Nese counters and gets his feet up. Nese gets back into the ring and then delivers a suicide dive. Nese tosses Metalik back into the ring and connects with a 450 Splash and gets a two count. Nese slams Metalik into the ring post and goes for the running knee in the corner, but Metalik counters with a boot to the face. Metalik delivers the Metalik Driver, but Nese kicks out at two. Metalik goes up top, but Nese cuts him off with an uppercut. Nese climbs as well, but Metalik drops him onto the top rope. Metalik delivers a hurricanrana and follows it with a springboard elbow and gets the pin fall.
Winner: Gran Metalik.

We take a look back to the confrontation between Hideo Itami and Mustafa Ali from last week’s show.

We see Drake Maverick talking to a referee in his office. He says he doesn’t know what Cedric Alexander has in store tonight, but if it gets out of hand he will handle it. Mustafa Ali walks in and Maverick scolds him for returning last week without clearance. Maverick says Ali will not step foot in a 205 Live ring again until he says so.

Match #2 – Singles Match: Noam Dar vs. Bryan Kelly
Before the match begins, Lio Rush’s music hits and the Man of the Hour comes to ringside.

Dar applies a side-headlock and Kelly sends him off the ropes. Dar comes back with a shoulder tackle and toys around with Kelly for a bit. Dar slams Kelly into the ropes, but Kelly comes back and drapes Dar over the top rope. Kelly delivers a series of rights to Dar, but Dar comes back with an elbow shot. Dar kicks Kelly to the mat and then delivers a headbutt and an uppercut. Dar delivers another uppercut in the corner and then suplexes Kelly to the mat. Dar kicks Kelly’s leg out from under him and then hits the Nova Roller and gets the pin fall.
Winner: Noam Dar.

Maverick stops Cedric Alexander backstage. Maverick tells Alexander to keep it professional tonight, because he has no problem ending it if it gets out of hand.

Back from the break, we see that Buddy Murphy will take on Gran Metalik on next week’s show.

Cedric Alexander’s music hits and the WWE Cruiserweight Champion makes his way to the ring. Alexander cuts right to the chase and calls out Drew Gulak, but TJP comes out instead. TJP says he is impatient and is not good at waiting in line, specifically for the Cruiserweight Championship. TJP says if Alexander is waiting for a fight, he has no problem making Alexander tap out tonight. Alexander calls him into the ring and they get face-to-face. Drake Maverick makes his way to the stage. He says the only guy who makes the matches on 205 Live is him, but he knows a marquee matchup when he sees it and makes the match.

Match #3 – Singles Match: Cedric Alexander vs. TJP
Alexander drops TJP to the mat and applies a wrist-lock, but TJP gets free and sends Alexander off the ropes. Alexander comes back with a shoulder block and then delivers a back elbow. Alexander connects with the Neuralizer, but TJP rolls to the floor. Alexander connects with a suicide dive and then delivers an uppercut. Alexander sets TJP on the apron, but TJP fights back and slams Alexander down onto the apron. TJP tosses Alexander back into the ring and locks in a standing octopus stretch. Alexander counters and goes for a stretch muffler submission, but TJP gets free. Alexander comes back with a dropkick that sends TJP to the floor and goes out after him. Alexander tosses TJP back into the ring and then delivers a right hand. TJP comes back with a kick to the leg and then applies the octopus stretch through the ropes.
TJP slams Alexander into the corner and puts his boot in his throat. TJP delivers a couple back elbows, but Alexander comes back with a few chops. Alexander comes back with a kick to TJP’s face and then delivers a flat-liner and gets a two count. TJP comes back with a kick of his own and gets a quick two count. TJP wrenches Alexander’s arm and then applies a modified arm-bar submission. Alexander fights to his feet, but TJP grounds him again with a cross-body. Alexander comes back and takes TJP down with a flying clothesline. Alexander kicks TJP in the face and drops him with a few clotheslines. Alexander delivers an elbow and then delivers a inverted Lumbar Check and gets a two count. Alexander sets up for the Lumbar Check, but TJP counters into an arm-bar on Alexander’s injured arm. Alexander counters and slams TJP to the mat and gets another two count.
Alexander comes out of the corner, but TJP counters and locks in another arm-bar. Alexander rolls free, but TJP grabs him again and locks in a knee-bar submission. Alexander almost taps out, but makes it to the ropes. Alexander fights back, but TJP counters into another arm-bar. Alexander counters into a roll-up, but TJP kicks out. TJP goes for the Detonation Kick, but Alexander counters and hits the Lumbar Check and gets the pin fall.
Winner: Cedric Alexander.
-After the match, Drew Gulak’s music hits and he comes to the ring. Gulak says he is dressed to compete and he accepts Alexander’s challenge to finish what they started in Brooklyn. Gentleman Jack Gallagher attacks Alexander from behind, but Alexander fights him off. Gulak gets into the ring and drops Alexander with a clothesline and then locks in the Gu-Lock and Alexander passes out. Drake Maverick and all of the referees rush the ring to chase him off. Gulak and Gallagher back up the ramp and admire their work as the referees check on Alexander as the show comes to a close.
