Styles vs. Nakamura is made official for Money in the Bank

May 14, 2018 - by Colin Vassallo

AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura will once again face each other for the WWE title at the Money In The Bank pay-per-view on June 17.

The match was announced by Smackdown Commissioner Shane McMahon on Twitter. “Every fan of these athletes is looking for a definitive winner, a CLEAR victor…so I am making it official,” McMahon wrote. No stipulation was added, or at least it’s not announced yet.

Their first match at WrestleMania ended with a clean finish when Styles hit the Styles Clash on Nakamura in a surprise outcome. Their second match came at the Greatest Royal Rumble in Jeddah and ended with a double count-out. Match three was at Backlash and once again there was no finish as both men failed to respond to the ten count after a double low blow.

Is there going to be some type of gimmick match for this? I thought the last one was No DQ, that’s how we had the double countout from nutshots. Maybe a cage? Or last man standing? I personally am hoping for 30 or 60 minute Iron Man Match.

Nut cup on a pole match.

(South Park rules) Roshambo Iron Man Match. Coin flip to see who goes first!

I wouldn’t mind an Iron Man match, add the caveat that even one low blow from Nakamura ends the match and AJ retains instantly, and visa versa with AJ losing the title instantly. Could quell the collective groan I heard when this tweet went out..

  7. Toni says:

Just make it a last man standing match.

  8. dave says:

Last man standing matches are about brutality and you have AJ Styles and Nakamura and out of 4 attempts you’re not even giving them a wrestling match to tell a story with wrestling. They’ve told a story up until now but it’s time we see just who the better man is, so to speak.
