11/30/16 NXT Coverage

We see the traditional NXT opening video and then go into the arena in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada where Tom Phillips and Corey Graves welcome us to the show.

Match 1: Asuka vs. Nicole Matthews
They circle around each other and then Asuka takes Nicole down to the mat. Nicole gets to the ropes to break the attempted submission and then pie-faces Asuka. Nicole connects with some right hands, which only fire Asuka up. Asuka runs the ropes and takes Nicole down and then unleashes a series of kicks to Nicole’s chest and head. Asuka sends Nicole to the corner, but Nicole counters with an elbow. Asuka grabs Nicole and goes for an arm-bar and then a cross arm-breaker, but Nicole counters into a roll-up. Asuka kicks out and Nicole catches her with a right hand. Asuka comes back and locks in the Asuka Lock and Nicole taps out.
Winner: Asuka.

We take a look back to last week’s NXT and the match between Rich Swann and Kona Reeves that was interrupted by SAnitY. We then see the beatdown of Reeves and Swann before No Way Jose rushed the ring to make the save and then challenged Eric Young to a match, which then transitioned into a SAnitY beatdown to Jose as well.

We see that No Way Jose and Eric Young will go one-on-one up next as we head to a break.

Back from the break, we see that Shinsuke Nakamura will challenge Samoa Joe for the NXT Championship this Saturday, December 3rd, in Osaka, Japan. We see an interview with Samoa Joe. Joe says it doesn’t shock him that Nakamura is getting his rematch so soon, because William Regal wants to get the title back on Nakamura as quickly as possible. Joe says he proved at NXT TakeOver: Toronto that Nakamura is not on his level. Tye Dillinger walks up and says he wants a chance to prove himself against Samoa Joe tonight. Joe says Dillinger was already embarrassed once and it would be a shame for him to do it again. Joe says he can’t think of one good reason why Dillinger should be in the ring with him. Dillinger says he can think of ten, and then slaps Joe across the face and walks away.

Match 2: No Way Jose vs. Eric Young (w/Alexander Wolfe, Sawyer Fulton, and Nikki Cross
Young backs Jose into the corner, but Jose comes back with a few big right hands. Jose puts Young in the corner and delivers a few chops. Jose delivers a back-body drop and goes for a pin attempts, but Young rolls out of the ring. SAnitY surrounds the ring and Jose drags Young back into the ring. Jose clotheslines Young in the corner and then tosses him over the top rope to the floor as we head to a break.
Back from the break and Jose is in control on the outside. He tosses Young back into the ring and Alexander Wolfe distracts Jose. Young delivers a next-breaker over the top rope and then rolls Jose into the ring. Young goes for the cover, but Jose kicks out at one. Young works over Jose’s neck again and goes for another cover, but Jose kicks out at two. Young slams Jose into the turnbuckle and then delivers a big right hand in the corner. Young chokes Jose over the ropes and then stomps away on him in the corner. Young goes up top and applies a hanging dragon sleeper to Jose from the middle rope. Young goes for another cover, but Jose kicks out again. Young wrenches Jose’s neck again and goes for the cover, but Jose kicks out again. Young applies a headlock down on the mat. Jose counters with a jaw-breaker and then delivers a hip-toss and a neck-breaker to Young. Jose drops Young with a big clothesline and goes for the cover, but Young kicks out at two. Jose winds up and knocks Wolfe off the apron. Jose delivers the big right hand to Young and goes for the cover, but Cross and Fulton distract the referee. Jose goes after them, but Young nails Jose from behind. Young slams Jose down to the mat and gets the pin fall.
Winner: Eric Young.
After the match, we see match highlights and then Nikki Cross delivers a dropkick from the top rope to take Jose down again.

We see that Tye Dillinger and Samoa Joe will go one-on-one up next.

Back from the break, we see that we will hear from the new NXT Tag Team Champions, Johnny Gargano an Tommaso Ciampa, next week. We go backstage and join Asuka for an interview. Asuka says there is no change with her. She is Asuka, the NXT Women’s Champion, and the best. Asuka says there isn’t anyone better and she has no competition.

Match 3: Samoa Joe vs. Tye Dillinger
Joe backs Dillinger into the corner and delivers a chop, but Dillinger comes back with a chop of his own. Joe and Dillinger exchange more chops and Joe connects with a big right hand to Dillinger’s midsection. Joe sends Dillinger off the ropes, but Dillinger counters with a kick to the midsection and a missile dropkick that sends Joe to the floor as we head to a break.
We’re back and Dillinger is still in control in the ring. Dillinger decks Joe and goes for the cover, but Joe kicks out at one. Joe comes back and tosses Dillinger to the floor. Dillinger trips Joe up and splashes onto him from the apron. Dillinger goes for the cover, but Joe’s foot was under the ropes. Dillinger goes for the Tye-breaker, but Joe comes back with a knee-breaker. Joe stomps away on Dillinger. Joe kicks Dillinger’s hamstrings and then locks in the knee-bar. Dillinger makes it to the ropes to break the hold. Dillinger comes back with a series of right hands and comes off the ropes, but Joe flattens him and sends him to the mat. Joe delivers a few kicks and then connects with the elbow drop. Joe goes for the cover, but Dillinger kicks out at two. Joe stands on Dillinger’s knee and then kicks him in the face. Joe delivers the quick right hands and beats Dillinger down in the corner. Dillinger comes back and slaps JOe across the face a few times and comes off the ropes, but Joe counters with a power slam. Joe goes for the cover, but Dillinger kicks out at two. Joe wraps Dillinger’s knee around the ropes in a submission hold and uses almost all of the five-count before breaking the hold. Joe delivers forearms and right hands in the corner. Joe smashes Dillinger in the corner and kicks him in the head as we head to a break.
We’re back and Joe is still in control. He is catching Dillinger with a series of right hands and then wrenches his neck down on the mat. Dillinger fights back and delivers a big clothesline to Joe. Dillinger delivers a couple chops and takes Joe down with some forearm shots. Dillinger delivers a short-arm clothesline and stomps down onto Joe. Dillinger stomps away on Joe in the corner and then sets up for the Tye-breaker. Dillinger can’t pick Joe up for it because of his knee and then Joe counters with a German suplex. Joe goes for another, but Dillinger ducks under and rolls Joe up. Joe kicks out at two and Dillinger delivers a superkick. Dillinger goes for the cover, but Joe kicks out at two again. Dillinger lifts Joe for the Tye-breaker this time, but Joe fights out. Dillinger sends Joe to the corner and charges, but Joe catches him and slams him to the mat. Joe delivers a big power bomb and goes for the cover, but Dillinger kicks out. Joe turns it into a Boston Crab and then a cross-face submission and then locks in the Koquina Clutch and Dillinger passes out.
Winner: Samoa Joe.
After the match, we see highlights from the match and then are reminded again that Shinsuke Nakamura will challenge Samoa Joe for the NXT Championship this Saturday in Osaka, Japan. Dillinger gets to his feet and waves to the fans as the show comes to a close.
