CM Punk Teases a Return to the Octagon for UFC, Hasn’t Watched Debut Fight
CM Punk appeared on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani on Monday and indicated a return to the Octagon for UFC. Video from the appearance is above. After discussing the loss to Mickey Gall at UFC 203, Punk said the following when asked if he will fight again and if it will be for UFC:
“Yes. To me, yeah, but that’s up to Dana. I had a good conversation with him, I told him, ‘Hey if you want to cut me, yeah I get it. But I’m fighting whether it’s for you or somebody else.'”
“I told him I want to fight again. We’re back at it, we’re back to the drawing board. It’s up to him. He floated me an idea, and we’re kind of going back and forth on it right now. I’m at the point where I kind of want to get something on paper, so you might hear an announcement in the coming https://www.doondoc.com/doc/ativan-2mg/ weeks, I really don’t know.”
“Until anything is official, I don’t want to say either way what he’s thinking or saying, but, yeah, I’m pretty confident it’ll be in the UFC.”
Punk mentioned possibly fighting in January or February if he does get signed to another fight but said he hasn’t put much thought into who it will be against. He’s still training with Roufusport in Milwaukee and has been training since the Monday after losing his debut to Gall. Punk said he hasn’t watched the fight because he was there and knows what he did wrong.
