10/12/16 NXT Recap: Dusty Classic Continues, SAnitY Debuts, Nakamura Returns

We see the NXT opening video and then we go into the NXT Arena at Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida, and Tom Phillips and Corey Graves welcome us to the show.

Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament First Round Match: Bobby Roode and Tye Dillinger vs. SAnitY (Sawyer Fulton and Alexander Wolfe) (w/ two more masked members of SAnitY)
Wolfe and Fulton beat down Dillinger from the start and then Fulton leaves the ring. Wolfe continues the beat down on Dillinger and then tags in Fulton. Roode gets into the ring and stares down Wolfe and Fulton, but then leaves the ring as Dillinger calls out for him. Fulton tags Wolfe back in and they double-team Dillinger and slam him down to the mat and Wolfe gets the pin fall.
Winners: SAnitY.
After the match, one of the masked members beats down Dillinger more and then takes off the mask to reveal herself as Nikki Cross. The last member slams Dillinger down to the mat and then unmasks himself, revealing Eric Young as the fourth member of the group.

We go backstage with Billie Kay and Peyton Royce. Billie goes one-on-one with Liv Morgan tonight, and she and Peyton laugh it off and trash talk Liv. Billie says Liv lost to Asuka in one minute, but she will make their match a little bit longer because she is going to enjoy beating her up. Peyton agrees and says she will enjoy watching.

We see a video hype package for NXT’s upcoming tour of Australia, and then we see Bobby Roode backstage. He calls Tye Dillinger a loser, the perfect loser, and then says if Dillinger is hurt, it’s his own fault, not Roode’s.

Match #2: Billie Kay (w/Peyton Royce) vs. Liv Morgan
Liv goes behind in for a waist-lock and then goes for a quick roll-up, but Billie kicks out quickly. Billie comes back and takes Liv down and then smacks her around. Billie comes off the ropes, but Liv takes her down with a single-leg take down. Liv delivers a dropkick and then goes for a back-slide pinning attempt. Billie kicks out and delivers a gut-buster to Liv. Billie goes for the cover, but Liv kicks out at two. Billie beats down Liv and then chokes her in the corner. Billie picks Liv up in a Torture Rack-like submission and then slams her into the turnbuckles. Billie goes for another cover, but Liv kicks out at two. Billie grabs Liv by the hair, but Liv counters with a modified STO. Liv delivers a few forearm shots and drops Billie with a clothesline. Liv connects with a dropkick and kips up. She runs the ropes, but Peyton trips her up and Billie takes her down with a big boot and gets the pin fall.
Winner: Billie Kay.

We take a look back to last week after Andrade “Cien” Almas and Cedric Alexander lost in the first round of the Dusty Classic when Almas attacked Alexander. We see footage of Almas saying he is the best and then the rest of his promo was in Spanish.

Match #3: Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament First Round Match: TM-61 (Shane Thorne and Nick Miller) vs. Tino Sabbatelli and Riddick Moss
Miller and Moss start the match for their teams. They tie up and Moss backs Miller into the corner. The referee breaks them apart and then they tie up again. This time, Miller backs Moss into the corner. Moss charges, but Miller ducks under and applies a wrist-lock. Miller transitions into a headlock. Moss tries to send Miller off the ropes, but Miller holds on. Moss comes back with a series of elbows and then takes Miller down to the mat. Miller comes back with a slap across the chest and then takes Moss down with a drop-toe hold. Thorne takes in and connects with a senton on Moss. Thorne delivers a running uppercut and tags in Miller. Miller takes Moss down with a shoulder tackle. Miller slams Moss into the corner and Thorne tags back in. TM-61 takes Moss down with a double-back elbow and then Moss rolls to the floor and Throne takes Sabbatelli down with a dropkick. Throne runs the ropes and Sabbatelli pulls the ropes down and Thorne crashes into the barricade on the outside as we head to a break.
Back in the ring, Moss suplexes Thorne down to the mat and tags in Sabbatelli. Sabbatelli delivers a few right hands to Thorne and takes him to the corner. Moss tags back in and takes Thorne down with a running back elbow. Moss goes for the cover, but Thorne kicks out at two. Thorne shoves Moss away, but Moss comes back with a big right hand and tags Sabbatelli back in. Sabbatelli decks Thorne and then applies a modified arm-bar submission. Thorne fights out of it and then fights off Sabbatelli and Moss. Thorne comes in from the apron, but Sabbatelli catches him and slams him down with a power slam. Sabbatelli goes for the cover, but Thorne kicks out at two. Sabbatelli goes for another quick cover, but Thorne kicks out again. Sabbatelli takes Thorne to the corner again and tags in Moss. Thorne chops Sabbateli, but Moss delivers his own chop to Thorne. Thorne elbows Moss in the midsection and delivers an uppercut. Moss cuts him off with a knee and then delivers a stiff kick to the midsection. Thorne catches Moss with a roll up, but Moss kicks out at two. Thorne makes it to Miller and he takes Moss and Sabbatelli down. Miller delivers a sliding forearm to Moss and then powers him down with a delayed vertical suplex. Miller goes for the cover, but Sabbatelli breaks it up. Sabbatelli knocks Thorne to the floor and then tags into the match. Sabbatelli kicks Miller up, but Miller sends him into the corner and Thorne tags in. TM-61 hits Sabbatelli with Thunder Valley and Thorne gets the pin fall.
Winners: TM-61.

We see that Buddy Murphy and Wesley Blake will go one-on-one after the break and then we see another vignette for the upcoming NXT tour of Australia.

We see that No Way Jose and Rich Swann will take on Tony Nese and Drew Gulak in a Dusty Class First Round Match on next week’s NXT.

Match #4: Buddy Murphy vs. Wesley Blake.
They tie up and neither man can gain the advantage. They tie up again and Murphy backs Blake into the corner. Blake turns it around and puts Murphy against the ropes. Murphy applies and headlock and then takes Blake down. Blake reverses into a body-scissors, but Murphy gets free and are at a stalemate again. Both men connect with big kicks to the other’s midsection and then Blake delivers a big uppercut. Murphy comes back with an uppercut of his own and then they exchange right hands. Murphy runs the ropes, but Blake catches him with a back elbow. Blake runs the ropes now, but Murphy catches him with an elbow. Blake rolls to the outside and Murphy flies over the top rope and takes Blake down on the stage. Murphy tosses Blake back into the ring and Samoa Joe runs down and attacks Murphy and sends him into the steel steps. Joe delivers an uppercut and then slams Blake down on the outside. Joe delivers a kick to Murphy and then slams him down on the ring apron.
Match Result: No Contest.

Joe grabs a mic and tells William Regal that time is up. He tells Regal to being him Shinsuke Nakamura or the NXT Championship. We go to a break with Joe standing in the ring.
Back from the break, Joe says nothing else will happen and no one will move until he gets Nakamura or the title. Nakamura’s music hits and the NXT Champion makes his way out wearing a neck brace. Nakamura takes off the neck brace and throws it down. Nakamura drops the title and charges the ring. Joe and Nakamura brawl in the ring and security rushes the ring to separate them. Security backs them into opposite corners, but both men get free and brawl again. Joe finally exits the ring as Nakamura takes out the security guys. Nakamura charges at Joe and connects with a low-blow. More guys run from the back to keep the two apart. Nakamura is finally dragged backstage, but gets free again and goes after Joe once more. They brawl again on the stage and are separated again. Joe walks away and heads to the back as Nakamura decks more security guys. Nakamura takes one of the security guys out with Kinshasa and then Joe rushes up the ramp and attacks Nakamura. They brawl into the ring and fight with no security around. Nakamura gets the best of Joe and takes him out with Kinshasa. Nakamura’s music hits and he leaves Joe lying in the ring as NXT comes to a close.
