1956 – The Great Malenko defeats Herb Welch, to win the NWA Southern Junior Heavyweight Championship.

1969 – Joe Scarpa defeats Paul DeMarco, to win the NWA Georgia Heavyweight Championship.

1979 – Mike Sharpe, Jr. defeats Mike George, to win the Mid-South Mississippi Championship.

1980 – The Grappler defeats Ted DiBiase, Sr., to win the Mid-South North American Heavyweight Championship.

1982 – David Von Erich defeats Bill Irwin, to win the vacant NWA Texas Heavyweight Championship.

1986 – Ron Starr defeats Invader I, to become the inaugural World Wrestling Council Television Champion.

1988 – The Samoan Swat Team defeat Michael Hayes and Steve Cox, to win the WCWA World Tag Team Championship.

1991 – Danny Davis defeats Masaru Toi, to win the USWA Junior Heavyweight Championship.

1993 – The inaugural WCW Fall Brawl:  War Games pay-per-view takes place in Houston, in front of 6,000 fans.

-In the dark match, Erick Watts defeats Bobby Eaton.

-Lord Steven Regal defeats Ricky Steamboat, to win the WCW World Television Championship.

-Charlie Norris defeats Big Sky.

-In a tag team match, 2 Cold Scorpio and Marcus Bagwell defeat The Equalizer and Paul Orndorff.

-Ice Train defeats Shanghai Pierce.

-The Nasty Boys (Brian Knobs and Jerry Sags) win the WCW World Tag Team Championship, defeating Four Horsemen members Arn Anderson and Paul Roma.

-Cactus Jack defeats Yoshi Kwan.

-Rick Rude defeats Ric Flair, to win the WCW International World Heavyweight Championship.

-In the War Games match, The Shockmaster, Sting, Davey Boy Smith, and Dustin Rhodes defeat the team of Sid Vicious, Vader, and Harlem Heat (Kane and Kole).

1998 – ECW UltraClash is held at the ECW Arena in Philadelphia, in front of 1,100 fans.

-Mikey Shipwreck defeats Jerry Lynn.

-In a six-man tag team “Italian Vendetta” Match, the team of Chris Chetti, J.T. Smith, and Tommy Rogers defeat The Full Blooded Italians (Little Guido, Tracy Smothers, and Tommy Rich).

-In a traditional tag team match, The Blue World Order (Super Nova and The Blue Meanie) defeat Danny Doring and Ulf Herman.

-In another tag team match, Chris Candido and Tammy Lynn Sytch defeat Lance Storm and Tammy Lynn Bytch.

-Masato Tanaka defeats D-Von Dudley.

-Balls Mahoney defeats Mike Awesome.

-In a six-man tag team “Philly Street Fight,” the team of John Kronus, Tommy Dreamer, and New Jack defeat the team of Jack Victory, Justin Credible, and Rod Price.

-Spike Dudley defeats 911.

-A six-man tag team match between The Triple Threat (Bam Bam Bigelow, Chris Candido, and Shane Douglas) and the team of Rob Van Dam, Sabu, and Taz ends in a no-contest.

1999 – ECW Anarchy Rulz takes place from the Odeum Expo Center in Villa Park, Illinois before a crowd of 6,000 fans.

-In the dark match, Danny Doring and Roadkill defeat The New Dangerous Alliance (Billy Wiles and C.W. Anderson).

-Lance Storm defeats Jerry Lynn.

-Jazz defeats Tom Marquez by disqualification.

-In a tag team match, Chris Chetti and Nova fight Simon Diamond and Tony DeVito to a no-contest.

-In a three-way dance, Yoshihiro Tajiri defeats Super Crazy and Little Guido.

-Justin Credible defeats Sabu.

-In a three-way dance, Mike Awesome defeats Taz and Masato Tanaka, to win the ECW World Heavyweight Championship.

-Tommy Dreamer and Raven retain the ECW World Tag Team Championship, defeating Rhino and Steve Corino.

-Rob Van Dam defeats Balls Mahoney, to retain the ECW World Television Championship.

1999 – Glamour Boy Shane defeats Mustafa Saed, to win the WWC Television Championship.

2000 – Mike Rapada defeats Jerry Flynn, to win the vacant NWA World Heavyweight Championship.

2006 – In the Heartland Wrestling Association, Scottie Murray wins the HWA Television Championship in a six-man tag team match.  The title was permitted to change hands if Murray’s team won.  Murray got the pin fall over JT Sthar.  Prior to Murray, the champion was The Hussla.

2007 – In Ohio Valley Wrestling, Ted McNaler defeats Shawn Spears, to win the OVW Television Championship.  In a six-way match, Roucka wins the OVW Women’s Championship.  The other participants were:  previous champion ODB, Josie, Katie Lea, Melody, and Serena.

2008 – Ring of Honor “Driven” is taped from Boston University.  Thirteen matches were on the card (five dark matches).   It would not air on pay-per-view until November 14, 2008.

-In dark match #1 Ernie Osiris defeats Frankie Arion.

-In dark match #2 Bob Evans defeats Alex Payne.

-In dark match #3 Chasyn Rance defeats Grizzly Redwood.

-Austin Aries defeats Delirious.

-Sara Del Ray defeats Jessie McKay.

-In a tag team match, Brent Albright and Erick Stevens defeat Sweet & Sour, Inc. (Adam Pearce and Eddie Edwards).

-Chris Hero defeats Jerry Lynn.

-In a Three-Way Elimination Match, Bryan Danielson defeats Claudio Castagnoli and Go Shiozaki.

-In a Tag Team Scramble Match, The Briscoe Brothers (Jay and Mark) defeat The Vulture Squad (Ruckus and Jigsaw), The YRR (Jason Blade and Kenny King) and Necro Butcher.

-In dark match #4 Daizee Haze defeats Madison Eagles.

-In dark match #5 Rhett Titus defeats Josh Daniels.

-Nigel McGuinness defeats Roderick Strong, to retain the ROH World Championship.

-Kevin Steen and El Generico defeat The Age of the Fall (Jimmy Jacobs and Tyler Black), to win the ROH World Tag Team Championship.

2010 – WWE Night of Champions takes place from the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois (outside of Chicago).  A sellout crowd of 13,851 attended the event.  It received 165,000 pay-per-view buys;  way down from 267,000 for Night of Champions 2009.

-In the dark match, John Morrison defeats Ted DiBiase.

-Dolph Ziggler defeats Kofi Kingston, to retain the WWE Intercontinental Championship.  Had Ziggler gotten himself disqualified or counted out, he would have lost the title.

-Big Show defeats CM Punk in a non-title match.

-Daniel Bryan defeats The Miz, by submission, to win the United States Championship.

-In a Lumberjill Title Unification Match, Michelle McCool (unofficial Women’s Champion) defeats Melina (Divas Champion), to unify both titles.  The official Women’s Champion had been Layla.  However McCool defended the title in Layla’s spot on occasion.  With the titles unified, the Women’s Championship is retired after 54 years;  and the lineage of the Divas Championship would continue until WrestleMania 32 in 2016.

-In a No Holds Barred Match, Kane defeats The Undertaker, to retain the World Heavyweight Championship.

-Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre win a Tag Team Turmoil match, last defeating Evan Bourne and Mark Henry, to win the WWE Tag Team Championship.  The other participants were:  previous titleholders The Hart Dynasty (Tyson Kidd and David Hart Smith), The Usos, and the team of Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov.

-Randy Orton wins an Elimination Six-Pack Challenge, last defeating Sheamus, to win the WWE Championship.  The other participants were John Cena, Wade Barrett, Edge, and Chris Jericho.

2011 – NJPW holds a Kantaro Hoshino Memorial Show in Kobe, Japan.  It was held in honor of Kantaro Hoshino, who was inducted as one of “NJPW Greatest Wrestlers” Class of 2007.  Hoshino died on November 25, 2010 after battling pneumonia.

-Prince Devitt defeats Kushida, to win the vacant IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship.

-In a six-man tag team match, Masato Tanaka, Davey Richards, and Rocky Romero defeat MVP, Tiger Mask IV, and Ryusuke Taguchi.

-Minoru Suzuki defeats Wataru Inoue.

-Tetsuya Naito defeats Yujiro Takahashi.

-Togi Makabe defeats Lance Archer.

-Hiroshi Tanahashi defeats Shinsuke Nakamura, to retain the IWGP Heavyweight Championship.

2013 – On this episode of Impact Wrestling, ODB defeats Mickie James, to win the TNA Knockouts’ Championship.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO: WWE Hall of Fame 2008 Inductee Jerry Brisco  (70 years old today) and former IWGP, GHC, and AJPW Heavyweight Champion Yoshihiro Takayama (turns 50 today).  Also, current WWE commentator Renee Young turns 31 today, and current SmackDown Live wrestler Eva Marie turns 32 today.
