Dusty Classic Returning to WWE NXT?, Possible Spot with The Shield Soon, NCAA Wrestler at Backlash
– There’s been a lot of internal discussion in recent weeks about bringing the Dusty Rhodes Invitational back to NXT for 2016. As of a few weeks ago, plans were said to be out the window, but as of this writing, things appear to be moving forward.
– Two-time NCAA Heavyweight Champion Nick Gwiazdowski was ringside for WWE Backlash this past Sunday. WWE is rumored to be interested in Gwiazdowski, but probably won’t make an overture to the athlete until after the 2020 Olympics.
– Due to Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose all working as babyfaces right now, there has been talk of doing another reunion spot with The Shield at an upcoming dual-brand pay-per-view, perhaps the Survivor Series or the Royal Rumble.
