1956 – The NWA Texas Heavyweight Championship is “held up;” after a match between titleholder Gene Kiniski and Pepper Gomez.

1961 – In Chicago, Pat O’Connor is awarded, and is listed as, the first holder of the NWA United States Heavyweight Championship (Central States Version).

1968 – Bob Ellis defeats Mike DiBiase, to win the AWA Midwest Heavyweight Championship.

1968 – Ken Lucas and Dennis Hall defeat Don Carson and The Red Shadow, to win the NWA Mid-Southern Tag Team Championship.

1970 – Tojo Yamamoto and Johnny Walker defeat The Interns (Billy Garrett / Jim Starr), to win the NWA Mid-Southern Tag Team Championship.

1971 – The Heavenly Bodies vacate the NWA Mid-Southern Tag Team Championship; after an arm injury suffered by Don Greene.

1981 – Jerry Lawler defeats The Dream Machine, to win the AWA Southern Heavyweight Championship for the 24th time.

1981 – Bugsy McGraw defeats Steve Keirn, to win the NWA Mid-America Heavyweight Championship.

1981 – Bob Backlund retains the WWE Championship; battling Don Muraco to a 60-minute draw.

1985 – The Dream Team (Brutus Beefcake / Greg Valentine) defeat The U.S. Express (Mike Rotundo / Barry Windham), to win the WWE Tag Team Championship.

1987 – Don Bass defeats Jerry Lawler, to win the AWA Southern Heavyweight Championship.

1990 – Rick and Scott Steiner defeat The Midnight Express (Bobby Eaton / Stan Lane), to win the WCW United States Tag Team Championship.

1991 – In Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling, Mark Starr defeats Ricky Fuji, to win the FMW World Light Heavyweight Championship.

1992 – Miss Texas defeats Lauren Davenport, to win the USWA Women’s Championship for the second time.

1994 – WCW holds Clash of the Champions XXVIII from Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
-In a tag team match, The Nasty Boys (Brian Knobs / Jerry Sags) defeat Pretty Wonderful (Paul Orndorff / Paul Roma).
-Ricky Steamboat defeats Steve Austin, to win the WCW United States Heavyweight Championship.
-In a tag team match, Dusty and Dustin Rhodes defeat Terry Funk and Bunkhouse Buck via disqualification.
-Antonio Inoki defeats Lord Steven Regal in a singles match.
-In a match for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship, Ric Flair defeats champion Hulk Hogan via countout. Hogan retains the title.

1996 – ECW holds its Natural Born Killaz event in Philadelphia.
-Mikey Shipwreck defeats Little Guido, to retain the EWA Jr. Heavyweight Championship.
-Rob Van Dam defeats Doug Furnas.
-The Dudleys (Big Dick Dudley and Buh Buh Ray Dudley) defeat D-Von Dudley and Axl Rotten.
-Lori Fullington defeats Lady Alexandra.
-In a Badstreet Match, Terry Gordy defeats Brian Lee.
-Taz vs. Tommy Dreamer ends in a no-contest.
-In a Tag Team Collar Match, Pitbull 2 and The Sandman defeat Raven and Shane Douglas.
-In a Steel Cage Match, The Gangstas (Mustafa and New Jack) defeat The Eliminators (Perry Saturn and John Kronus), to retain the ECW World Tag Team Championship.

2003 – WWE holds SummerSlam in Phoenix; in front of 16,113 fans.
-Rey Mysterio retains the WWE Cruiserweight Championship, defeating Shannon Moore.
-La Resistance (Rene Dupree and Sylvain Grenier) defeat The Dudley Boyz, to retain the World Tag Team Championship.
-The Undertaker defeats A-Train in a singles match.
-Shane McMahon defeats Eric Bischoff, in a Falls Count Anywhere Match.
-In a Fatal Four-Way Match, Eddie Guerrero retains the United States Championship; defeating Chris Benoit, Rhyno, and Tajiri.
-Kurt Angle retains the WWE Championship; defeating Brock Lesnar via submission.
-Kane defeats Rob Van Dam in a No Holds Barred Match.
-In an Elimination Chamber Match, Triple H retains the World Heavyweight Championship. The other participants were Goldberg, Chris Jericho, Randy Orton, Kevin Nash, and Shawn Michaels.

1998 – On WWE RAW IS WAR, Kane and Mankind battle to a draw, in a Hell In A Cell Match.

2007 – Damien Wayne defeats Dru Onyx, to win the NWA North American Heavyweight Championship. Wayne had held the title for 489 days.

2007 – In Ohio Valley Wrestling, The James Boys (Kassidy and K.C. James) defeat Jamin Olivincia and Chris Cage, to win the OVW Southern Tag Team Championship.

2009 – Floyd Mayweather, Jr. is the special guest host of WWE RAW from Las Vegas.

2011 – In Ohio Valley Wrestling, The Frat & The Furious (Trailer Park Trash and Mr. Black) defeat James Thomas Raul LaMotta, to win the OVW Southern Tag Team Championship. Also, Lady JoJo defeats Izza Belle Smothers, to win the OVW Women’s Championship.

2013 – Adrian Neville and Corey Graves defeat Alexander Rusev and Scott Dawson, to retain the NXT Tag Team Championship.
