Mark Hunt: “I’ve told Dana I want half of Brock’s purse”

Jul 15, 2016 - by Steve Gerweck

Upon hearing the news that Brock Lesnar, who defeated Mark Hunt via unanimous decision at UFC 200 last week, had been notified by USADA of a potential anti-doping violation, stemming from a failure of an out-of-competition drug test on June 28, Hunt asked UFC officials for half of Lesnar’s purse or else he would like to be released from his contract effective immediately. “I’ve told Dana I want half of Brock’s purse .. I’ve told Dana that I want a release from the UFC if they don’t sort this out,” Hunt stated.

Hunt said the UFC has not yet responded to his request.

“I don’t think that’s fair. I think it’s load of bulls***, I think it’s rubbish,” Hunt told UFC FIGHT WEEK on Fox Sports in an exclusive interview. “I don’t think anyone should be exempt from testing. If they’re trying to clean the sport up — mixed martial arts — this is a bad way to do it. I don’t care who you are. It’s ridiculous.

“I don’t think it’s a great move. I think he’s juiced to the gills,”

“I saw Brock made millions for this fight, more than anyone ever.” he said. “I wanna know what they are gonna do to Brock now. When you don’t make weight they give twenty percent of your purse to the other fighter. If you get caught cheating you should lose all of it.
