CLEVELAND, Ohio – Officials have named a suspect in the January shooting death of a U.S. Marine Corps veteran at a Cleveland hotel.

Police obtained a warrant Tuesday for the arrest of 29-year-old Donald Nemeth of Cleveland, according to Cleveland Municipal Court records.

Nemeth is charged with aggravated murder. He was not in custody Wednesday afternoon, court records show.

Nemeth shot 34-year-old Joshua Mascol on Jan. 23 at University Hotel and Suites, police said. Nemeth tried to rob Mascol before the shooting, court documents say.

Mascol was found shot in a seventh-floor hallway, where paramedics pronounced him dead.

Police in February released surveillance photos of two men who were persons of interests in the case. They’re still working to identify the second man.

Anyone with information on Nemeth’s whereabouts can call homicide detectives at 216-623-5464.
